Comments Article Title                                 Comment Music - Pittsburgh 99 I waited outside in line at the metropol for about 10 hours. These guys kept trying to get me to get drinks at Wisky Dicks next store but I was not going to give up my seat in line over a few beers and shots. It was raining outside and I was mingling with other pumpkin fans. At that time I was just really getting into the smashing pumpkins. A fan offered me 2000 dollars in cash for my concert ticket. I turned it down. I WISH I BOUGHT AN EXTRA TICKET TO THIS DAY!!!!. He eventually found one for like 400 bucks. SP FANS are definately HARDCORE FANS!!! This guy offered tons of cash so he could get in the show and all the fans including myself turned down huge somes of cash for a 20 dollar SP ticket. Anyways queens of the stone age opened up. They were not that popular at that time so most of the die hard pumpkins fans didn't like them. I thought they were pretty kick ass. THen the lights got dim ... (most of the people there did not know jimmy chamberlin was in the building) then all you heard was I am one on the Drums and the light was just beaming down on Chamberlin's White Yamaha Drum Kit with him behind it. I fliped the fuck out when I saw him playing drums because this was my first pumpkins show. After the show I bumped into Darcy Standing out front by the tour buses. She appeared to be pissed off. She said I am going to quit this band I am tired of it all. I said whats the matter babe. Darcy replied "Billy cant sing and he gets angry with me if I miss a rhythem. For Christsakes the words are on the telepromptor all he has to do is read and sing. All I want to do is get out and I am never coming back" I told her she should just finish up the tour then drop off and do her own thing. I told her I love the pumpkins but you need to please yourself before your fans. I couldn't get over how tall and skinny she was. We talked for a good 30 minutes then Billy and Jimmy came out and her last words were thank you. Shit If I could of did it over again I would have at least took her out for a round of shots ... :) I never thought for a million years that I would meet Darcy (never the less talk to her after a long show) but my impression is that she is really really sweet and witty. She could totally care less if you are a celebrity or not. She actually likes NORMAL guys. I heard not to long ago that Billy Corgan wrote an online autobiography and in that called darcy a mean spirited drug addict times. You do not go bashing your friends. I thought that was pretty messed up when Billy was talking shit on James and Darcy. I mean even if it was true... who cares. If your buddy wants to quit the band let him quit. So what if Darcy got busted with a small amount of ski. Darcy at that time was very high profile because of her band. When you are HP you are always under a microsope.
