I went through the same thing with zeitgeist, and basicaly all new material, although i actualy think american gothic has some nice qualities. I cannot understand what billy is getting at with zeitgeist, he is just taking the irony a bit to far on most occasions such as hiring paris hilton for the tarantula single sover and hiring those porn stars for the superchrist video, im yet to understand what he thinks he is doing.
Yet, having said all that, i am one of those fans that pretty much have blind and unrelenting faith in both him and the band as an entity, i will never give up, nor will they ever leave the number 1 spot in my favourite artists list, because i will always be hopefull with regards to future releases, even when there is no real reason to be such. I have copped quite alot of criticism for that, and not just amoungst non pumpkins fans, but pumpkins fans also.
I guess its hard for people to understand why anyone would put so much faith in one human, haha, even i question it sometimes as i am very much misanthropic. |

I would think radiohead to be equaly moronic, i think in rainbows is a stinking pile of shit, its only popular because peolpe could get it for nothing.
And @ pitboss, i am a fan of the band, not a certain sound, i am a fan of the ideas they held, in fact adore and machina are my favourite albums, i dont want them to copy any album again, i want them to progress, but i dont want them lose the ideals they once had. The dangerousness they once held, thats what is most dissapoitning about 2007/2008 pumpkins, it isnt dangerous, they are just another mediocre rock band on a long list of mediocre rock bands. |

Some people are saying that if they put together all the songs at the end and call it an album then that will be ok. How can you say that? for me, i never realy pay a large amount of atention to individual songs, its all about the album as a collective work. With a good track order that breathes and feels. Not just a string of 4 songs on an EP every few months, that method of releasing is far more limiting aristicaly than releasing an album, saying otherwise is bullshit, its just pathetic profiteering, and im saddened that a band i love so much would reduce themselves to this |

I am just about in tears. What the fuck do they think they are doing? catering to some little 13 year old cunt who gets a couple of tracks of itunes? yeah thats right billy, who cares about fans who want a collective body of work from the band they love totaly, how about you just worry about some fucking little scene kid who will leave you as soon as the fad has passed.
We need to invent a time machine, go back in time to 1995, bring billy from '95 into the present and get him to beat 2008 billy senceless.
