News - New Single Titled: G.L.O.W. Yes, that's it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byhf3wVQbsw Slam, bam, it's a wrestling jam...
News - New Single Titled: G.L.O.W. I remember growing up as a youngster, and there was a female wrestling show called G.L.O.W. (Glorious Ladies Of Wrestling), featuring the types of "The Fabulous Moolah" and "Wendy Richter", yes the same Wendy Richter from Cyndi Lauper's "She-Bop" video from the 80's...why do I know that? What do you think the acronym means? "Get Lit Off Weed" "Gotta Love Our World" "Ginger Lives Out West" ...
Contest Entry - Zeitgeist (Event Of The Year) I'd like to close out the contest with sincere thanks to everyone who checked out my entry (and voted for me!) I'm impressed with the quality and quantity of the entries received for this contest, and wish everyone who submitted the best of luck with their respective musical aspirations / careers. Let's remember that we're all fans of (the) Smashing Pumpkins, and give credit to those you hosted, organized, and put forth the venue to compete amongst fans from around the world. Could this even be possible ten years ago? Big thumbs up to the administrators. Although the contest lacked a clear definition of "cover song" in it's execution, I appreciate the opportunity. It made my winter a little more fun. Best wishes again to the contestants, and thanks again for your support! Sincerely, Jeff Savage "Event Of The Year"
Contest Winner - United States (Phil Mckenna) I'll add this comment without hiding behind the moniker of "Guest", as it seems many others have done. You're a great drummer, but this is not a cover song. Enjoy your silver Zeitgeist. :confused I respect each and every fellow contestant who has entered to take a stab at this contest. I had a great time taking a break from my own music career to have a little fun here. But your pompous attitude a couple of comments above is loathsome. Don't cut down everyone just because you think your entry is the best. Let's see you arrange guitar, bass, and vocals (and keys if you really want to be complete) over your drums, and then we'll talk about bad musicianship.
Contest Winner - Ma Belle (somaziro) You should go buy a lottery ticket now! Although I believe 10 of these songs have a legitimate chance to win, I've always liked yours, and I'm glad to see you take a prize, though randomly... Best of luck in the voting phase. Thanks again for sharing your talents.
Contest Entry - (Come On) Let's Go! (Shinji Kun) Do you listen to Nada Surf? This is just great...You've made my day.
Contest Entry - Zeitgeist (Vidooch) Attack of the robots! This makes me think of so many things,,,Devo, Chumbawamba, They Might Be Giants...Sounds like a sonic mish mash of every music style of the 1980's. It's really fun until the end when it just gets crazy and busy...Very creative. and shows alot of effort, totally unexpected.
Contest Entry - Pomp and Circumstances (Cyanide Kiss) The beautiful people, the beautiful people...no wait, it's Pomp and Circumstances! I love the originality and the production, but I agree with Spaceboy90, something seems to be lost in translation...props for the submission!
Contest Entry - Tarantula (acoustic) (Alan Falsetti) I never considered Tarantula as an acoustic number...I like the live aspect of this, and damn, you nailed the solo. My only wish for this would have been more passion on the vocals. Otherwise, thanks for this. It's refreshing!
Contest Entry - Doomsday Clock (Antimime) Your vocals remind me of Tim Skold. He is currently in Marilyn Manson's band, but he cut his teeth with both KMFDM and MDFMK. I'm a fan, therefore, I like this submission. Nice work. I didn't think Doomsday Clock was truly a fan favorite, but the number of submissions here are starting to tell me differently. It's definitely growing on me.
Contest Entry - Bring The Light (Jean-Christophe) I'm speechless...really. Wow.
Contest Entry - Zeitgeist (Event Of The Year) Thanks, marquisspades. You have me thinking now... Thanks for the support from everyone who has checked this out. My personal philosophy for doing a cover is to do it in a way that isn't an exact replica. Take Dreaming by Blondie, or Destination Unknown by Missing Persons, or, heaven forbid, Rock On by David Essex, and look how the Pumpkins put their own spin on it (Or To Love Somebody...) Thanks, everyone! Good Luck to the other contestants, it has been a pleasure...
Contest Entry - Doomsday Clock (ETF) Sounds more like Jonathan Davis than Marilyn Manson, I mean ETF... I dig the experimental vibe to this.
Contest Entry - Bleeding The Orchid (Galapogos) I've been looking forward to hearing this since I heard you were going to do this. I agree about the vocals with everyone else, but hey, great job in the execution!
Contest Entry - The Rose March (dreamelectric) Your acoustic guitar sounds great.
Caption Contest - Contest 44 "You've all been brought here because I found out you've been illegally downloading my music. Behind you is the train that will take you away for good. May this be a lesson to you all..."
Contest Entry - Zeitgeist (Event Of The Year) The digital noise has been fixed! Thanks to all for your patience and support.
Contest Entry - Zeitgeist (Event Of The Year) I must admit, those digital artifacts are definitely not supposed to be in there...I'm not sure what happened, that's so strange... I'm waiting to hear from the site administrators if I can re-submit my entry. Damn, that really bums me out...
Photo Edit - American Gothic (SamC) If this isn't one of the funniest things I have ever seen...
Cover Song - Let Me Give The World To You (Event Of The Year) Thanks for the warm reception. I find it awesome that there is an outlet for Pumpkins covers. This site is so much cooler than Netphoria...I feel like I'm at Airport Security whenever I check out their site. So rude and disenchanting...
