News - If All Goes Wrong DVD Released the documentary is very interesting, the performance is mind blowing!!
News - August Tour Dates That is shitty about the difference in ticket price... after ticketmaster's ridiculous fees, my Hammond ticket was $102!!.... there BETTER be a reason for that difference. I have to agree Cowboy Bill, yes, Ticketmaster always "gives it to the people"... they give it up the ass. Pearl Jam should sue TM again... those monopolizing pricks!
News - James And D'arcy Sue Virgin Records Geeez this is starting to sound like a soap opera plot, what's next a love triangle of some kind?? In all seriousness though, James and D'arcy deserve their cut of the loot for SP material from their era (even though they had little to do with the actual writing & recording of most of that material...) James and D'arcy do not deserve MORE credit than Billy or Jimmy, as it is known they did not contribute much to the writing & recording process... at least no where near as much as Billy and Jimmy did. But they did play a role in the identity of the Pumpkins' stage presence,.. the band's personality was greatly influenced by them. I don't think they deserve any more or less credit at this point... And I strongly disagree that the Pumpkins' are Billy's "money train", yes it brings in money, but the Pumpkins exist primarily for artistic reasons, not monetary ones.
News - August Tour Dates I've got my ticket, I'll be there!!! :D
Caption Contest - Contest 50 Eat your heart out Tron!!
News - New Single In September I completely agree with you, I fucking love Zeitgeist. But it's cool that they're moving on to something else... progression... that's the name of the game baby ;)
News - Happy Birthday, Billy! Billy's 41, Mel is 36, and I'll be 28 this Wednesday (19th),... all these great artistic people born around the same time ;) hehehe j/k
News - Superchrist Video Released Does anyone know if this version of SC is out anywhere on mp3 or any other audio format? If someone could hook me up, I'd be much obliged ;)
News - Superchrist Video Released This song is completely bad ass!! I love how the Pumpkins have so many "fans" who dislike what they're doing... I find it interesting... :roll
News - Smashing Pumpkins AOL Sessions Here's another link with a zip file of the whole AOL sessions: http://www.ozphoria.com/media.php
News - Smashing Pumpkins AOL Sessions Here's another site with more mp3's, sweet performance! http://www.culturebully.com/smashing-pumpkins-perform-for-aol-sessions
Caption Contest - Contest 42 "Come here, hot asian girl... and love my sexy Corgan arm-pit."
News - That's The Way (My Love Is) Single I can understand why they chose Thats The Way for the next single... its a very catchy, fun song. But I really like some others a little better.
News - That's The Way (My Love Is) Single About time Stellar is coming out on something other than iTunes, now maybe I'll finally be able to get it on my Project Playlist... I loooove Stellar!
Am i the only one a little disappointed? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed to some extent... I've always believed that a true fan's responsibility to their bands is to listen to new material with an open mind and without much expectation... but I'll admit I had some expectations going into this, and I'm not sure if they've been met. Don't get me wrong, I'm LOVING this album! Its just that I have a hard time not comparing it to Machina or Machina II... which, in all fairness to Billy & Jimmy, was a different species of Smashing Pumpkins. I saw where someone referred to this Pumpkins revival as "Smashing Pumpkins 2.0"... which really isn't a bad way to think of it. Half of the band is new, although its questionable how much (if any) input they had to the material in the studio. But with two producers (Terry Date & Roy Thomas Baker) who are new to the Pumpkins' sound, one would have to expect to hear something different from before... which is what we expect... right?? Yet, I still found myself expecting this new material to hold its own against the Machina I & II material... and so far I'm not sure if it really does, although I do like it. Know what I mean?
News - The Smashing Pumpkins Hit The Stage hahaha, I was gonna say, in that picture Jeff kinda looks like Andy Kaufman ;)
News - The Smashing Pumpkins Hit The Stage It seems that there may some method to Billy & Jimmy's madness in the new line-up... the pics look like they have good stage-presence! And not that it matters, but Ginger is FUCKING FINE... holy shit, I wanna rip her to shreds!! (Blondie quote) ;) Don't know anything yet about Jeff Schroeder, except that he's from The Lassie Foundation... I'll have to look for some of their stuff. Tarantula kicks ass! Can't wait for the 10th!
News - Tarantula Available On iTunes I admit, when I first heard the 30 sec clip, I didn't know what to think... but now that I've got the whole song, I'm VERY HAPPY!! :yay I think I actually hear almost a Gish-type of sound in it, very very cool ;) Although, I will say that I think the vocals could have been recorded/mixed better, particularly during the first verse... But the song itself is freaking BAD ASS!! The Pumpkins are BACK BABY!! HELL YEAH!! :D
News - Zeitgeist Cover Artwork Revealed Yes, I couldn't have said it any better Haden! ;)
News - Preview Of The First Single 'Tarantula' I totally second what you're saying! Except I don't think Drown was very poppy, but Siamese Dream definitely had some happy-sounding songs in it (like Hummer & Rocket). Listening with an open mind is the key to appreciating all new music; I know it can be tough, but throw away your expectations everyone!
