My favorite release would have to be The Aeroplane Flies High, because I love the b-sides a lot more than I should, and it has the coolest packaging EVER.

But, as a representation of what The Smashing Pumpkins have done as art, I would have to say undoubtably Mellon Collie. For obvious reasons.

I have trouble evaluating the albums on the basis of "art," since I'm kind of a philistine. I would say that the most "artsy" album is Adore, but for the best "work of art," I would choose Rotten Apples (although I feel conflicted identifying a compilation of pre-existing songs as a "work of art", since it shows the breadth and scope of what the Pumpkins were capable of.

I must confess, i havent heard any of the rare b-side albums since i live in australia and getting hold of them would be near impossible

I got all the Rarities and B-sides I could from iTunes. I don't have a credit card, so I went to the store and bought a whole bunch of the gift cards for myself, just so I could get them.

Hook up a free recorder to your computer, like WavePad, and download what the computer hears, while listening to the tracks on Napster! It's how I get some of the B-Sides...

could you get it over ebay or something?

i dissagree, there is no better feeling than buying something that you can actualy hold and look at. I dont like downloading hole albums, it is offensive to album artists.

I liked Adore's album art...with the whole black & white theme. I also like the pics of the members within the album art.

Although it isn't an option, so I havn't voted, I think that MSOTS is actually my favourite album at the moment because it has the power to make me happy when I am sad and make my calm when I'm stressed, Other SP albums can do that, but they tend to do it in more of an angry, head banging way.

hey dougydarkang billy himself does not care about downloads im assuming because on his sites some official downloads are there as this site offers to so think billy dont mind download and enjoy,its legal to fileshare and the stuff you cant buy to hear it and to appreciate the music you gotta download or if you cannot find it buy it if amazon or ebay..judas o is a great album the feeling i get from saturnine is awesome.."camera take this picture the wreckage is outside quick may you hurry we are losing our lives...we are inside now saturnine how i love to waste your time saturnine"--saturnine " offof judas o a bonus free cd on the first copies of the greatest hits lp rotten apples rock on!!!

MCIS is the biggest work of art musically and Machina has the most artsy packaging.
