I'm betting that when with the new tour they will mostly play SP2 stuff and neglect a lot of the 'old favorites' or change them up too much for a lot of people's liking. Bands who do this kind of thing usually lose casual fans pretty quick and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts/predictions are on the new tour setlists.




Screw the casual listeners!!! I don't care what they do...it will be great. If they play the old songs in the old way cool...if not - who wouldn't want to hear a new version of some of the old classics? I mean some people are just so narrow minded that they forget this is ART we are talking about. If you want to hear Today played exactly as it sounds on your CD...listen to the CD!!!! LEave the shows to people with the capacity to handle change. I'd rather the casual listeners not show up anyway...they annoy me.

I guess we'll also have to look at it from different perspectives. On one of those bootleg interview discs (the one with billy in a zero shirt covered in dark blue light, by Jim Stapleton I think, the interview was in the Gish era) he said that performing should not be about validation or getting applause happy, and that at some of their best shows they got no reaction from the audience. We shouldn't be demanding that he play certain setlists (ala the Melbourne TFE shows), but it sounds like what he's trying to say is, that when he performs, he creates another creative space to express himself.

Also, yes, screw the casual listeners.

i would think it would get extremely boring to play the same songs over and over, but i never played a concert...

I'll be happy no matter what

I'm sure they'll whip out a lot of classic pumpkins, especially if they have a majority of the old band
