gish is my favorite album. though alot of the songs sound similar. siamese dream is absolutley fantastic, but i will always pull out gish before siamese dream.

just thinking about the sounds of 's albums and SD has alot of guitar sounds that sound grungey and really raw. all the albums sound soooooo different.

Gish is a good album, I like "I am One", "Rhinoceros" (), "Bury me" (especially the final part, which is brilliant), "Snail" and "Daydream".

It's not one of my favourite albums, though.

P.S.: "I'm Going Crazy" is a creepy tune...

Re: gish 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I took my dad on a drive once, had my Gish tape playing, wasn't sure if he'd like it, but at one point he said, "This sounds a lot like the music I listened to in college." So I bought the CD for him at Christmas. That's my #2 favorite thing about music, it can bridge the gap between people, between generations.

I agree. Gish is a phenomenal album, but you can’t really compare it to other Pumpkins albums. Each album is completely different in sound and what it represents. It would be like comparing “Apples + Oranjes”…..no pun intended.

Nice avatar Ice Cream.

I prefer SD far more to Gish, Gish is more chill out for me so it can be okay at times, but usually the last to come out of the cd collection.

way better than SD????

it is lyrically and musically and emotionally way below any other album the pumpkins have done. It was a great starting album for the band and has lots of good songs. But that's it.

Gish is my least favourite SP album, although that still makes it excellent. I always thought it represented a point in the bands history when they were at their roughest. It was from there that they could refine and polish their music into somthing even more spectacular. And I always felt that that some of the B sides on Picies Iscariot really should have been on Gish, particularly Plume and Starla. But then again Pisces Iscariot wouldn't be as good!

Plume and Starla were only recorded in 1992. I don't think these songs existed when Gish was made.

In that case, they demonstrate even more how the band were moving on to greater things after Gish.

Gish is a great album. Mainly a psychadelic rock style there. But I prefer SD, which still has elements of that but takes on a more grunge sound. And I prefer MC to that 8)
Anyway, yeah, Gish is great but not my favourite.

i just think gish was more what a band wants to play rather than sd, which some of you might know, i thought was very pop-e

I love Gish, although it's not my favorite album. I think "I Am One" is an amazing introduction to the album; it just gets me in the mood to rock out.

Re: gish 2 Years, 2 Months ago
ehh I wouldn't call siamese dream pop-e..(poppy?)

sure some of the songs had a more popular sound to them..but the thing that made them different from the rest of the pop music was that EDGE

I really enjoy listening to gish, but SD is my favorite, hands down

thats exactly why its my favorite! machina would have to be my least favorite because it sounds very plastic and polished. (i am quoting someone from netphoria here): you have to strain to hear the individual instruments, which i think you shouldnt have to do. i like to listen to gish and with each song, try to pick out each individual instrument. thats why i can play it over and over and not get sick of it.
