they're all SO different

I like Billy's solo best because it's got good beats that get my blood pumping, (was listening to it this a.m.)
I like James' solo second because it's very soothing and comforting, the kind of record you put on when you've had a bad day.
I like Jimmy's, but I haven't heard it in a while and it's hard to my finger on what exactly I like about it.

If each album were a meal, then I'd say The Future Embrace is the steak and potatoes from your favorite grill house, Let it Come Down is the chicken soup with dumplings comfort food, and Life Begins Again is a mysterious goulash that tastes good but you're not quite sure what's in it.

Nice definition.

i like jimmy's album way more than any others, i dont like james' music, or billy's (why on earth did he think it was groundbreaking?)

Life begins again is such a mixed bag. All the instrumentals are great with the exception of Cranes of Prey. The other songs.. well Loki Cat is really good(Not just because Corgan sings) and a couple of the other ones are ok but mostly just feels like some mediocre band with a phenomenal drummer.

I give the album 3 stars for sure. JC is my favorite drummer and he sure shows some awesome skills on this album. Almost makes me think he is unchallenged and underused in SP.



Corgan's solo album.. It's funny my only real complaint is the drumwork. I think we can all agree that Corgan is better off playing with Jimmy than without. I give TFE 4 stars. I really like it. There is stuff on there that ranks with any of the electronica style SP stuff. So by that measure it's just as good as SP. The lyrics are great and his singing is back on track with what I like. Not the Zwan album style. He has songs that are completely unique to his body of work and that is awesome to me. It's always great to be surprised by an artist you love and like it at the same time.


James Iha's album. It's not bad but kinda boring to me. It's a nice sweet record but doesn't have much to make me listen to it a lot.

but i wouldnt say billy's is the steak- its pretty different to what the pumpkins were- maybe tofu or something quirky.

I think some of Billy's best work was in TheFutureEmbrace. Hell, my favorite song of any artist of any genre of any decade is Walking Shade! I love how Billy mixes techno and rock and makes it sound so great together! It's pure genious!

It was a close one for me but I put my vote in for Jimmy just because his was the least expected to me. You expect greatness from Billy and I expected something really good from James but Jimmy really surprised me. I may change my mind tommorrow but for today it's Jimmy and his Complex.

I agree, the poll looks flawed to me, it's showing Billy as the favorite of the three, but not any of the appreciation for James properly.

the complex is pretty cool, but that music doesnt stick on me like the other two albums do

I thought Iha's and Corgan's were both alright without being particularly good. I'd say Corgan's was slightly better of the two though.
I have only heard samples of Jimmy's.
