hello everyone. I actually registered here just so I could reply to this topic, and the thing about billy being rude to some guy in a record store. I wanted to share my own little story about meeting billy. I met him on the sidewalk in dallas before he played a show during TFE tour. He stopped and talked to us (even though we only said "hello" and kept walking, he was the one who stopped and started talking to us). After my friend Kody mentioned that he didn't have a ticket and was hoping to find a scalper billy said, "no don't do that, I'll just put you on my guest list. He proceeded to ask my friends and I our names, and after we talked for a bit longer we went our separate ways. Just before the crowd was let into the venue, someone who worked there came out and found us, and told us that billy had sent him out to find us. He then took us to the front, yelling loudly "Let us through, these guys are on billy's list!", and we got in ahead of everyone and for free. It was very generous of him to offer, and even cooler that he remembered his promise and took the time to make sure we got in (although, I already had a ticket myself, but it turned out i didn't even need it!). After the show was over, billy came out and talked with the fans who were still hanging around outside, and signed autographs. In addition, he was hanging out with this couple when we met him, and after the show, who had met him on the street like we had. I overheard some people in line talking about how billy walked out and this girl said to him, "can we hang out with you?" and he said "sure", and the two of them were with him the rest of the night. If Billy Corgan is an asshole to his fans, I certainly didn't see it that night.

Regarding social31's post (Not directed at him fyi):

What reaction would you give if some guy came upto you declaring his undying love for your music and for you? Kiss him? Punch him? Run away?

I think what Billy did was more than acceptable. Billy could of easily told him to shut up or go away. You've got to realise that Billy is a human being and more than likely on his free time wants to be one of the crowd. At least he isn't like most artists who tend to walk around with an entourage of body guards.

The thing with the ticket, again, he didnt have to sign it, it probably would of ended up on ebay anyway.

Billy is a man like you and i. Just because he doesn't do what you want him to do, or hasn't released the final metro, or because he's not telling us who's in the band etc... doesn't mean he doesn't care. He gives us more than we need and should appreciate it a lot more, and we should respect his privacy and appreciate that we don't lead his life and have no need to cross any boundaries like pure common sense.


so if you walk into a cd store and happen to see billy corgan, you wouldnt say anything to him and just leave him alone... a died hard fan would work up their guts to say something to him
