i have a nice boot of the pumpkins that was made on wzrd chicago in 1989. on there billy talks about how they are releasing an ep soon and they are on the light into dark compilation.... does anyone know anything about these?

I think the light into dark compliation was an lp that was released with a bunch of artists from chicago. It was something I used to try really hard to find but have since lost interest in.
the wzrd show is awesome...you have to listen to venus in furs in the dark...it makes me think of castles and stuff. you'll love it!

i have a copy of light into dark. it's cool and everything, but other than the pumpkins' songs i only kinda liked 1 or 2 songs on it.

LIGHT INTO DARK is the 1989 compilation album of Chicago alternative music featuring the first released recordings from The Smashing Pumpkins - "Sun" and "My Dahlia". Also included on the album are Poster Children, Ghost Swami, Gold September, Price of Priesthood, and Seven Letters.

I have the LP still sealed, which is ultra rare to come across.
I also own the sampler cassette, which is ultra rare too, possibly more common than a still sealed LP

This Light Into Dark LP is the first official release (apart from demo cassettes) to feature the Smashing Pumpkins. It was released in 1989 on 1,000 copies.
The 2002 cd re-release isn't really that hard to find. Don't expect to find it for $5 though, because that might be a bit harder...
Their first own release (as in: not a compilation album) was the I Am One 7", released on Limited Potential. It was released in 1990 on 1,500 copies.

It may just be awful recordings, but i think i may hold back a little from 1990 and 1991 uploads, i want to compare my versions to others as they may be all round bad quality.
