Wow, this guy really pissed me off, seriously
http://www.markprindle.com/smashina.htm
He wrote bad reviews for every SP album, and came up with reasonable reasons to say they were shit. After reading them, with all the other reviews of the Pumpkinhaters, I was seriously doubtful of my faith in the Pumpkins.
But then I listened to Siamese Dream. After the first couple songs, I was beginning to see what he meant. Simple chord changes, etc.
But by the end of the cd, when the beautiful Luna was finished, my faith in the Pumpkins was completely restored. They don't sound like Rush, cold and hard in their techinical skill. They have something that Rush does not, emotion, that moves you, as well as the kick-ass guitar tricks that sends shivers up your spine.
So to Mark Prindle, I say fuck you, Pumpkins are forever

Mark Prindle is a fucking douchebag who probably enjoys emo and sings along with Dashboard Confessional. He must have loved hair metal as well.
He likely believes that Panic's cover of Tonight, Tonight was better than the original, too.
Moronic asswipe...

I'm sorry but the fact that he praises the riff on zero and disses the rest of the music as bland is so narrow minded that his entire opinion on music to me is shit.
It's a cool riff, don't get me wrong but COME ON!!!!!!!

Yeh this guy is the most nieve person ever. For one thing, most of the reasons he says its shit is because he is not a musician himself but just thinks he is because he knows of some musical words like kettle drum and harmonics. But I just can't belive that he actually thinks that a kettle drum and xylophone were used in Disarm when it was a typhony (spelling?) drum and bells.
He just doesn't like the sound of his voice and proberbly does listen to bands like My Chemical Romance and Panic and is one of those people that looks up to an artist who doesn't even write their own music or lyrics, but the thing that gets to me the most is that line were he says that they have nothing to contribute to pop music. Like SP are actually a pop band, I mean common how could anyone be this stupid.
Death to that man and his ways.

I was actually upset to see some of the comments made on that page but then I decided to read more and see if they were making any valid points or just being "hatephorians"....
"I have to agree with society that Bill's songwriting is at an all-time high here. The main problem with this record is the length. It's over two hours, see, and there's only about 45 minutes worth of good material. And, you know, 45 minutes is just about the length of, wow, a normal album!!! In other words, if only the Pumps had tossed the master tapes to me at the end of session final and said, "Dump the filler," I could have given them a great record!!!"
You could have given them a great record???? MCIS was the biggest selling double album in history ---- EVER!!!!!!!!!! This a-hole actually thinks he could have made it better??? That alone makes him a retard.
Aside from that, this guy states himself that he knows almost nothing about music or how it is made and seems to be a bit skitzo because he keeps going back and forth between praising Billy and the Band and saying how classic some of their songs are and the very next paragraph he's talking about how much he hates them.
"When I heard that Billy Corgan had returned to his old style, I ran and ran as fast as I could until the bunny ended up in front of my favorite record store. I walked in, checked my collar at the door and headed straight to the "S" section where I eagerly grabbed a copy in my mouth, paid my 18 kibble and went back home to enjoy."
The guy sounds like a fan to me.

He doesn't even know the correct name of "Bye June", he says it's "Baby June". Idiot
It was true! My favorite aspect of Billy Corgan had returned - his pig squeal vocals! I feel much more at home when listening to songs sung by animals, and Billy is no exception. Between him and that bitch on bass, I feel like I'm back at the Puppy Ranch!
Ugh I want to punch this guy.

"(If you're familiar with the bands Billy's ripping off)"
I've never heard anything that sounds anything like the Pumpkins until after Siamese Dream with other people following their footsteps. This Mark guy is a reasonable person but doesn't...get it.
"Simple"
He uses the word "Simple" to critiscize SD. What's wrong with simplicity? I think it's less hard to create something with all of these fancy guitar riffs and solos and things, than to simplify it and make it sound melodic. Too many effects and things can make music busy. I like simplicity, so there. I admire people who make more simplistic music, because it really takes more time and more creative edge to pull it off. Thanks,
-Sam
