Yes, met him first at the March 2000 signing. I think he may have mentioned The Marked Tapes to Billy at that point, and he may have given him the Marked Tapes at Act IV 2001, when Billy made a surprise appearance. Or somehow arranged to send it through a third party to Billy or something. I don't get the sense that my friend has ever been in direct contact with Billy except for face to face at fan signings and gatherings.

Some of the people in the trading community, including my friend have talked with either Dale or Ron. I have never talked to them, nor do I know how to, and I am not in any hurry to try. To tell you the truth, I haven't really liked 99% of the material I have heard from The Marked. Somehow they got in touch with that Len guy as well, but I never got to meet up. Frankly, I don't how they did. Perhaps my friend never even talked to them personally, but was just in contact with traders that had been.

One of the interns at Metro who would ended up helping us out with the second concert, had contacted Barry Waterman, after seeing his website advertising the release of Light into Dark on CD 14 years after the release of the vinyl. For some reason, he had made an arrangement with her, where he offered to auction off a dinner with him with a Pumpkin fan to help raise funds for Make-A-Wish around the time of Act IV 2002 for a joint Act IV/SPIFC charity auction (an option more viable for people who wanted to help out with charity but could not or had no desire to come to our show).

Anyways, some guy ended up winning the dinner with Barry, and he invited the Metro intern, and my brother and I to come to the dinner. It was at some vegan indian restaraunt in Chicago. He had some colorful stories about SP supposedly signing eachother's name on the contract for Light into Dark. And also he insisted that the songs on Light into Dark were actually recorded at his studio rather that a Reel Time Studios. None of this I can verify personally. But it was entertaining. I don't know if the girl is still in contact with him, and I have never heard from him since.

Barry was nice enough to also donate a couple of Light into Dark vinyls and a few cds for the auction. One of them was auctioned off, but we still have the other copy of the vinyl. We will eventually auction it off for charity with SPIFC's help. Hopefully there can be some point where we can arrange to get SP to sign it after one of their concerts or something, so we can make more money for the charity. But that's a long shot.

So most of these people, I only know that people in the trading community have been in contact with them. Billy I have met as well, a few times, mostly for signings and things like that, and fan projects. One of the times was to help present a Listessa fan video I helped put together, that was arranged through the SPIFC. But Billy and SP's management has changed obviously since 2000, so Karl Daher from the SPIFC is no longer able to get in touch with him.

Who I would like to get in touch with Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Farris. I thought I remember Netphoria once interviewing them or something. But I imagine they are even harder to get in touch with now that they are directing films. It would be cool to do an interview with them myself, as they are my favorite directors.

My brother and I once got contacted by Modi, who directed Vieuphoria out of the blue. Apparently Modi was doing a web search for their name and stumbled upon Landslide, and wanted to correct some incorrect info we had up there. They agreed to a short email interview for our site after that, and we haven't heard from Modi since. Weird, completly random, especially for a site that is not as popular as some of the other websites. I mean, most people can't even remember our website address. I guess truth is really stranger than fiction.

Ok, I will stop rambling now. I feel like I am just name dropping now. I thought I would just metion some interesting tidbits. I am sure there are people on here with much more intersesting stories than my meandering tangents I am laughing out loud..

thats cool stuff......you own landslide?

i feel silly, my response is like 6 workds, yoursis like 6 paragraphs!!!!

I run it with my brother, yes. It's ok, I blab on and meander as I pointed out anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if some people just tune it out haha. Maybe that's why half the people who have visted our Act IV project's myspace page think that it is a tribute band, when we clearly state (at least I think so) otherwise, it's not even a band, just a name of music project.

Teej212, if you would like to chat with me on these matters, feel free to message me or we can start another thread or something. Although I have probably told most of the semi-interesting stories already :P.

Anyways, people can resume their discussion of The Marked. I will hijack it no further.
