Yeah i liked Adore and machina, but they were trying to evolve to quickly. Billy said that there is no reason why they couldnt last for 20 years, but there is actually. Billy was trying to evolve and please himself artistically, which is great for true fans who apreciate the music not just the WOW factor. This idea of continuous evolution would eventualy lead to the alienation of the original fans, this is probably the main reason why Adore and Machina were the worst sellers (not the worst just the worst sellers).

Siamese Dream is simply remarkable, but I was going to say MACHINA, which has some of my favorite songs--although Mellon Collie is a consistently better album...but Adore is just so beautiful!

Agh, for me it really depends, since each of these albums helped me through different but troubled times in my life. Mellon Collie is just the perfect embodiment of the heart of teenage angst and painful, unrequited love...Adore delves into beauty and sadness, and feelings of being forlorn...and MACHINA is an intense, pained, and sprawling cry of religious questioning. MACHINA II feels jaded and bitter, but also sometimes redeemed and hopeful.

I'll throw a shot in the dark and say MACHINA, for the awesome album art.

best drummer ever, i wish i was as good as him, nothing to do with an album (except for his absence on Adore) but it needed to be said.

I've seen a lot of "what is your favorite _____" threads... but not for favorite album. So here you go. I voted Machina/The Machines of God. Brilliant album.

Machina for me. Yeah, some of the production could be better flushed out at times, and some of the versions could have been modified (ie having Wound sound more like The Arising! version), but I love the album. I always enjoyed how SP evolved over the years.

Machina 2, I can't really compare to the others because they didn't get to really finalize those songs. Yes they went back in the studio to do some mixing and things like that in July 2000, but I still think there was work to be done, to smooth out some of the edges, recording wise. Pisces Iscariot is a B-sides album, so you can't really count that either. I mean, it was an assemblage of b-sides and outtakes from two eras of the band, so there wasn't a clear vision and intent of singular album, if you know what I mean.

yes
it used to be gish, but right now its siamese dream. the songs hummer and mayonaise are like the icing on the cake if they werent on SD then i wouldve voted gish. but it always alternates between mellon collie, gish, siamese dream and adore.

I'm going to have go with Mellon Collie... Although I think everyone album is great, it was Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness that got me hooked on the Pumpkins, for me it's one of those albums that I can just sit and listen to from start to end and enjoy every second of it... But then I guess that's the way I am with all the other albums.
Each album is great in it's own way though.

Each album is great. That said, I think I only chose MCIS because you get double the pumpkins in one sitting. All the albums are like my children - I love no one more than the other, but I'll take 28 sp tunes to 14 any day...

And for the record I don't have any kids.

I picked MCIS for the variety and emotion. But Adore comes really close.

i love sweet sweet

the tone and the chords and everything about the song....if only it was longer

siamese dream is such a wonderful summer CD

anyways, you can list PI... I mean an album is a collection of songs

i'm pretty sure PI is a collection of songs ;D

doesnt have to be a concept album
