haha. definately. we know that. but more specific. like theres probaly gonna be lots of "shoe-gazer" style layering of sounds, with all the "symphony of guitars" stuff.

we know that they are up for new things- or are revisiting some certain sounds (the organ)...

We know nothing! (in a barcelona type voice)

Jimmy mentioned an organ, I don't get it, everyone loves the organ, it's just one instrument, we have no idea how it will sound except that Jimmy hints at it being very rock based.

If it were Billy's or Jimmy's organ I may understand the excitement!

Based on what the pumpkin queen and jimmy had said, i think it's gonna be a multi-layer guitar based album, jimmy have made a lot of references to the space , i think the organ and guitar layers are to make the "space" effect, anyway, i guess it may not be as "Spaced (outtake)" in Pisces Iscariot, maybe a little more Siamese Dream, with a lot of riffs, maybe a little like "Soma", maybe a little more energetic, neeee... Just guessing here.....

Well, the organ was used in early versions of "Rhinoceros", and it gave it a very different but nice spacey sound. Of course that whole song was sort of "spacey".

I think part of Billy's whole creative genius lies in the fact that he is always willing to try something new, but embrace it to the best of his capabilities. Every Pumpkin album and post-Pumpkin album was different, but good and well thought of nonetheless. I think the new album will embrace the same variety and masterfulness.

[In my opinion, of course.]

Remember what Billy said 'its not going to sound like you think it will'. If people are hoping for another Gish, Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie, my feeling is that they will be disappointed. Remember Machina, also used a wall of sound, but it was just a different type, with synths and electronic beats mixed in with the layers of guitars and so forth. I am not saying it will be Machina again, but I would expect that they won't totally throw Adore or Machina out the window. It will be somewhat a continuation of that in some sense probably but it will sound very different from those albums as well. Who knows. Maybe they will somehow meld the sounds of all the albums into some weird assemblage of sounds. Not sure how that would work exactly.

Be weary of people saying it will 'be a return to roots' album, or 'the best fucking rock album ever', and stuff like that. It will just lead people to false expectations, and possibly disappointment.

I surely hope that people on this board didn't see the mention of layers of guitars being added to songs, and thought, 'yippy Siamese Dream 2' .

I don't see how they can make one whole album that all sounds the same.
