Thats quite strange because I have a live video of all of them, including Jimmy playing Pug, but I don't have its date, it's a really good version of Pug, I just didn't think they ever played live all together after MCIS, not live anyway.

i am looking foward to the new album no matter who else is in, it could be kurt's rotting corpse for all i care
Hey , Kurt made 50 mill last year! That would be great for sales!
haha yep, but sales only matter for one reason, to get the message across further. Billy is definatly not in this for money
LOL - MAybe he does it to once and for all prove that he is the better front man. (JUST A JOKE - Not trying to start an argument.)

i think maybe in one of the documentaries or something, they talk about how the stress of being in a band of the pumpkins magnitude and whatever else she had going on (wink wink) was killing her, so james convinced her to quit for her own good.

I pray every day that this does not happen

As for the whole undercurrent of disliking the current state of the US, I really hope its REALLY subtle. I don't want to find myself listening to the songs and ruining them for myself by constantly questioning the political subtext of a song. It's fine to be political, but I don't want it be even to the level of Ok Computer political, and that was just the tip of the iceberg for Radiohead, if you know what I am trying to say.
Alex (Kahlo) seemed to indicate on Netphoria that TPQ was suggesting that Europe would see the Pumpkins "WAY before America" or something. He thought it was a bit strange, which is exactly what I was thinking. I can understand, they have done this in the past where they did a Europe tour before doing a North American tour. But I would find it very hard to swallow that they wouldn't do at least a show at Metro as their first show. Regardless of who is in the line-up, it has to be a Metro. I am not from Chicago, but I would try my best to make it out for the first show if its in Chi-town.
1) Agreed. I know the Pumpkin Queen said it wouldn't be on the level of American Idiot, but I still don't want a blatant attack on the US. The Pumpkins have never been a very political in their lyrics.
2) Agreed. I'm live in the suburbs of Chicago, so I would kill to go to their first show. Plus the Metro is the place most associated with the Pumpkins, so they better play there. Didn't some of Billy's and/or Jimmy's recent writing about the bands tell how much they love Chicago? If so, then why wouldn't the first show be at the Metro, or at least in Chicago? Maybe the Pumpkin Queen is from the UK, and the first date that came to mind was the UK one.

Didn't d'arcy leave because she wanted to pursue a career in acting

I looked her up on the IMDb to see if she'd actually gotten any acting work, no acting, but it did come up with this...

She's a masseuse...

"My mother used to say to me: 'If you haven't got anything kind to say, say nothing.' "
"Being in The Smashing Pumpkins is like being married to three persons, who I'd had never (obviously, except Iha) dated with."

But since that was quite some time ago, I hope that her plans now include the Pumpkins...
Oh, wishful thinking.

Yeah I was a bit urked about hearing that it was 'SD and MCIS with a twist as well'. I don't want to repeat themselves with Machina either, but still would like to see synths in there (not FutureEmbrace electronic, but more in the sense of Adore and Machina but building upon that). It's fine if they are going to more guitar heavy rock, and in that sense being sort of like SD and MCIS, but I don't want them to repeat themselves. Hopefully the twist is big, and this talk of return to so-called form basically is just to get people excited to buy the album who didn't like Machina and/or Adore, at least not as much as the other albums.
hehehe. was this intentional?
I was half a sleep when I wrote that, but I think I was just trying to reiterate the point that repeating themselves in any sense would be kind of bad. Guitar heavy is fine, as long as they don't throw out the final 4 years of the band out the window, and focus on 1993-1996 era Pumpkins, which would be kind of anti-Pumpkins.
I don't think The Pumpkin Queen is from the UK, at least she is living in LA from my limited knowledge. Perhaps she wanted only let people in on the UK tour side of things because she was in the UK to see a show . if I remember correctly, she was talking about how she would be in the UK for some Boxer Rebellion show in her blog awhile back. I am guessing it was more her than the Pumpkins influence that resulted in that band being the first featured band on the SP myspace.
D'arcy was supposed to be in a movie with Mickey Rourke called Pieces of Ronnie, but then the project was cancelled or something. Never heard about another project with her in it. Then a year or so, later, Billy Corgan ends up in Spun with Mickey Rourke, kind of funny, considering that D'arcy was at the very least socializing with Rourke during the Arising Tour. I always suspected her getting plastic surgery and as Billy put it in his blog once, turning into a 'mean-spirited drug addict' had something to do with her association with Rourke.
With D'arcy it was really surprising, especially considering her position on drug addiction in previous years. From reading interviews with D'arcy at the time of firing Jimmy from the band, it sounded like she was the main reason why the band fired Jimmy in the first place. She spoke about in one interview how she had dealt with drug addicts before, and that with Jimmy, they gave him so many 'this is your last chance"(s), that they had to fire him to scare him into cleaning himself up.
It's too bad that as Jimmy was turning his life around, D'arcy was on a downward spiral.

Thanks for gathering all that info. It's a damn exciting time to be a pumpkins fan. I perused the netphoria forums just a few minutes ago to see if there was any other info than what has been given. What was there was pretty well covered. It was a painful experience. Seems like only 2 or 3 people on those boards are actually fans of . Oh, and this is my first post on ThePumpkins.com forums, so hi everybody, you seem like a great crowd.
