Speaking of promos, having the US "Rocket" promo CD seems like its going to be the closest thing I ever get to the Rocket CD single, which is pathetic considering it doesn't even have the artwork. I remember 5 years ago, I was in Chicago, and a colleague from San Diego was claiming that there were 4 or 5 copies of the Rocket CD single at Amoeba or whatever it is called in San Diego (I have never been there, but isn't it a chain store?). In response to that I remember thinking to myself sarcastically "Sure, that really makes sense, considering it is a rare CD single printed 7 years previously in Australia, and out of print now." She must have been on something lol, either that or thought my brother and I were gullable.

It's a chain of three stores. One's in Berkeley, CA and the other one is in LA. I didn't know there was a San Diego one, but that's a good thing in this case.

The Rocket CD single comes up on ebay all the time, one just sold where i know all of the bidders already have a copy.

Hmmm... Maybe i should start looking for this one as I do live in Australia, I've managed to come across most of the other singles just by chance, including the Australian I Am One, and they were pretty cheap too.

That too . Having a rocket promo, the for the masses depeche mode tribute compilation, and picture of the rocket cd single on my computer is just not the same :P.

I am not sure if it was actually in San Diego, I just know the person was from San Diego. I could have sworn they said that Amoeba was in San Diego, but I could be wrong. All I knew for sure was it is a California chain like you're saying. But I am guessing it is not a hub for all thing rare. I got the impression that it was more like Coconuts (which I know is at least in Chicago-since it was near the Days Inn Lincoln Park) and run of the mill CD chains like that.

Either way, the seller is a moron for not making it available outside the UK. He could have made lots more if he had.

It (Siva vinyl) was in very good condition, there was just some minor scuff marks on the top edge, but the vinyl itself looked mint like it had never been used.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...55&rd=1&rd=1 won this a few days ago on second chance havent got it yet though, pretty wierd seeing as i was over $40 off the pace but the winner pulled out because it was their kids messing around and a private auction usually means that the seller is bidding on the item to put up the price.

I got that exact same record off ebay, for about £3 too. Perfect condition. The guy had mispelled it Smahing Pumpkins, so I pounced in.
