Hrm. . that dates back to April. I love Jimmy though.
Although, I have no high hopes for James and D'arcy being "members" at this point.

I just happen to believe very strongly in that the Pumpkins should remain the Pumpkins. The members as well as the music are what make the band special to me, and to completely ignore such a large part of their legacy and history seems like the wrong thing to do...I don't care if it's Billy who might be the one doing it.
You have to remember that Billy or Jimmy isn't ignoring them, it's James and Darcy that are ignoring the band (or so it would seem at this point). If they don't want to be back in, it's not Billy's fault. How would the band be able to be true if half of the members hearts werent in it.

That's the thing, we don't know anything about that yet from anybody. All we've done thus far is speculate and we have no idea if Billy and/or Jimmy actually tried their best in asking them back. For all we know all Jimmy did was e-mail James or something... In that situation, I would think that they'd make a solid effort to let James and D'arcy know that they want them back, you know? Like, perhaps flying out to see them personally, talking things over, things like that. We don't know any of that at this point, but the only piece of information that gives me any hope is something I found in the 2005 news section of SPFC:

What about Eric Avery? I haven't heard about him in a while. Good thing too, I can't stand the thought of that name being in the band's line up. :P

That was actually unconfirmed by him. He wasn't ever officially involved after all was said and done.
"(8/22/06) Eric update + Polar Bear on MySpace
My apologies for the last update where I initially jumped the gun declaring Eric the new bassist for the Smashing Pumpkins. His involvement turned out to be fleeting, and they've now pretty much stopped working together."

I recall vaguely being a told last year when I was in Chicago by what I consider a reliable source that Jimmy was playing in a club in NYC, I think it might have been djing weirdly enough, and James had tried to force his way in (possibly drunk, I don't remember). And Jimmy saying something to him like 'if you wanted to come, you could have just called me' or something like that. Basically, suggesting that trying to barge in,without notice is not the way to go. But for all I know, that story could not be entirely accurate, and my memory is kind of fuzzy.

The one who DJ'd at clubs was James, so perhaps you are off a bit on the details. That sounds a bit weird though...

If you have the PDF could you post it or something? SPFC's link does'nt seem to work. That does sound promising though.

I tried getting to that pdf almost a year ago, but it didn't work. However, I trust that SPFC really did pull from a legitimate source. That same magazine has basically covered James' partying/concert-going in New York for quite some time now. I also researched that restaurant, Baldo Vino. It's a real restaurant located right where the article, or snippet says it is.
I also remember that some time before SPFC's servers went down that the rest of the full text for that portion listed said, "Maybe that reunion will happen after all..."
