I found The Smashing Pumpkins 1991-1998 promo cd in a used record store today and i wanted to know if I should buy it. I already have most of their albums but now I am thinking just for my collection.
I heard that there were only 1000 pressings, is this true?
Any help would be appreciated

I would get it. Most places seem to say that it was only limited to 1000, but it actually seems to be a bit more common than that.

Yeah it's pretty common, how much are they selling it for?
There's 2 releases of it, a European and a US release. I own the US version, an ex of mine has the European, they only difference i've noticed is that the European inserts are more glossy.

There's a third release too: a Canadian one. The color of the cd is different on the Canadian release.

Sounds like a fair deal. Especially if it's the Canadian one, because these tend to be a bit more rare than the US or the EU release.
But either way, it's a nice addition to your collection and it's a great compilation, in my opinion.

Agreed. Those are some god songs there. I would definetly get it, despie how rare or common it is, or if you have all those songs elsewhere-it would just be nice to add to your collection.

Its pretty much the greatest hits with a few extra songs and a few taken off. And the unreleased mayonaise, expect for it being on mashed potatoes.

Yeah, I got mine for cheaper than that, but that was only because it was sent as promo to the campus radio station I was playing at. Another one of those times when I was able to get a Pumpkins related CD from a CD sale at CFMU. I got it for $10, but on eBay, at least awhile ago, that promo was going for a lot more than $14.99. Don't remember how much though.

So, what version was it? The light-brown Canadian release? Or does it have a dark-brown cd?
