Are you telling me that this ISNT the website for the russian football team "smashing pumpkins"?, wow, iv just wasted a whole year of my life. Nowhere in the sign up did it say this was about the band.

What i meant was...some people have favorite players and some people have favorite teams. (EX: People who cheer for the Bulls no matter who's playing for them or how bad they suck this year) It seems that there are more people interested in the SP franchise than the actual players that will make up the band. Dont get me wrong - I'm ready to cheer them on as well - but first I'd like to know who I'm cheering for.

Billy, James, Darcy, and Jimmy = SP
Billy, Jimmy, Paz, Pajo, Sweeney = Zwan
Billy = TFE
Billy, Jimmy, ? , ? , = NEW SP?
Whatever happened to the good old days when fans cared and could name the people in their favorite band?
Anyhow - not to start an argument - I'm just more concerned with WHO will carry on such a rich legacy. WHO will bask in the glory James and Darcy helped create, moreso than what song they will play 3rd.

The thing I am most looking forward to is how corgan is going to sing. His singing style changes almost every album and has gone through many variations since the pumpkins. It's also not just a question of how it sounds it's about how much energy is he going to put into the performances. I can't wait. I got my tickets to see them in toronto at the Virgin Festival with another favorite of mine(bjork). I know I will love the new album and look forward to what madness corgan has got in store for us.

Hopefully with the return of the stratocaster we'll hear the early voice, at least thats the style i like the best.
sidenote: the chicago bulls are pretty cool this year, they played against the pistons I had no clue who to cheer for. (I'm a michigander).

what it seems to me is that his voice style changes to fit the music. like in adore, he didnt scream like in mellon collie, he made his voice soft like the music.

I don't know if Billy can even still sing like he did in the SD era. Can he still do the "ask yourself a question" part from Hummer? In the live preformances from the Machina era he just screams everything. I haven't seen many Zwan or Future Embrace live preformances so I can't judge his recent vocal patterns, but I am curious as well to see how he sings.

Personally, I can't wait to see how they play their old songs. I bet they will be a bit different. but as long as they don't play the really fast version of 1979 like they did on the adore tour in 98, I'll be good.  |
