Corgan and Chamberlin are in, Iha's out, and somebody's got to play bass. Buddyhead.com claims to have a line on the rest of the Smashing Pumpkins lineup, reporting that Ginger Reyes (a.k.a. Ginger Sling) of the Halo Friendlies will be taking over for original bassist D'Arcy Wretzky, while Jeff Schroeder (former guitarist for SoCal bands the Lassie Foundation and Violet Burning) will play guitar.

I don't like the sound of this.

i wonder if that's true... it just doesn't seem like billy would pick another female bassist other than melissa. he's always said it was just coincidental. this seems a bit formulaic. but hey, who knows

I read about this on a message board yesterday. Maybe MTV.com is pullling another "Ben Kweller is replacing Kurt Cobain in the reformed Nirvana" stunt. The people at MTV.com read the Ben Kweller thing on a blog and wrote an article about it. Maybe the same thing happened with this? I hope Melissa is still involved if D'arcy isn't. And I hope that someone who has always been close to teh band replaces James. Then it would seem somewhat like a real reunion, if you know what I mean. But who could that be?

mtv is always the most trusted sourse for music news, i don't know what to say about this fuck ginger is hot it wouldn't be a bad concert looking up at her but rumours are rumours we will find out on the 22nd of may whats the deal and all.

Ginger is hot???? IS that all u guys care about? More than likely Billy is doing this as another publicity ploy. Get a good looking bassist - as he always has - to be the eye candy for shows. Thats his formula - always has been. I wish everyone would stop acting like Billy has know clue what he is doing.

For Instance: He knew that if he announced an SP reunion without Darcy and James in the beginning, many people would have been turned off - SOOOO he keeps it a secret as long as he can.

I don't know but I think it's just some false rumour. I read this buddyhead.com where the source of this rumour is from and they don't really seem to be positive about the Pumpkins and don't cite any kind of source or reference or how they know about it.

I have to say I'm with Believe on this one. I bet you TSP people just took the 2 best looking unheard of "artists" and planted the story, just to get the media off of them about the other two members. And then MTV probably called TSP people up to confirm the story and they would say yes of course... maybe?
