i don't know what X.Y.U. is really about or what the conditions were when Billy wrote it but I always thought it was about a guy who was out having sex because he was bored and ended up getting a girl pregnant. I could be totally off base but that is how I have always translated it.

I believe this was written about his soon to be ex-wife, and Billy did say it was short for "Ex, Why You." Much like, F*ck You, An ode to No One was also about her. I think he discussed this openly at one point, way back in the day.
