Dead serious! Kind of stumbled upon their rehearsal space - I'll say that it's in the same building that my band rehearses in...except instead of having one room like the rest of us...they have the top floor of the building. Heard rumors that a "big Chicago band" was gonna be rehearsing up there - Last night after practice I went to check it out, not expecting the door to the floor would be open. Sure enough, the road case w/D'arcy's name stenciled on it was up there, as well as a bunch of rooms w/signs on em (kitchen, lounge, rehearsal room, production room, control room, etc). They must be finished w/their album though so I'm guessing the control room and production room are being used for video purposes maybe...maybe something w/them getting ready for the tour, or maybe recordings of the rehearsal...not really sure?

I really want to believe you, but I just can't . It's so far fetched.

I'm not getting ym hopes up, bt if she really is in the band, i'll give you credit for it, =P.

Well, I still can't say for CERTAIN that it's the Pumpkins but all signs point to it being them. Rumors of them moving to the space started from a guitar tech who has a room at the building. Then I talked to the facilities manager/co-owner of the building and he said they just got done w/a big build-out of the top floor for some "fancy people". The name Smashing Pumpkins was said by said co-owner when he was on the phone (I went over to pay rehearsal space rent), and he promptly told the person on the other line he'd call him back. No other band in Chicago could swing an entire floor in this building. The name on the road case sealed the deal for me...I just can't believe they left it out in the hallway, and the case wasn't locked...the building does have cameras on every floor though. I'll be back there tomorrow and I'll take my camera...all I'll get (hopefully) is pics of the road case (thing is huge, like 6x4 feet) and pics of the doors w/the signs.

I'm pretty convinced this is a lie, but you never know, strange things happen. So I shall keep listening and watching this thread.

I decided to fuel the rumor mill a little more.

Billy didn’t want people to buy Machina because it was the Pumpkins “so-called” last album, or go to their concerts for that reason either. He wanted the music to stand on it’s own without other factors influencing the fans or the media. The same holds true for Zeitgeist. If all four members are back, the media and the fans excitement would overshadow the album and the music wouldn’t mean as much.

If this is D'arcy’s equipment, then maybe the article claiming James is out was a publicity stunt to throw everyone off track. In the article James said that Billy never contacted him and they haven’t spoken in years. There was a rumor a while back that the two were spotted having lunch in NYC and I think I read somewhere that Jimmy talks to James regularly through email.

Point being, if D'arcy is back, why wouldn’t James be in?
