I don't know... there is this theory (which I now hope is not true) that says that the peak of a person's creativity is between the age of 20 and the age of 27-28 or so. That would explain why everything from pre-Adore is labelled 'genius', while the rest of Billy's work isn't.
However, I'm an allround fan and I think Adore was brilliant, Machina was still ten times better than anything else put out in that era, Mary Star of the Sea was gorgeous and most songs from TFE are among the best music that has been released lately. I don't think Billy has lost his gift. He's still a genius today, his work is still genius.
You also see it in clips on youtube where he plays these intimate songs, like "Lost in the woods". Billy is still enormously creative. If that's not genius, then what is?
I like Adore and on better than Gish Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie... Not that the three aren't great!
saying that here you might cop some small criticism, but what ever you do dont say that on netphoria, they will find your adress and hunt you down and kill you.

Machina is my favourite album, has been for about 6 weeks, the most misunderstood album for years, no one seems to understand it at all.

I didnt mean it like that. Pumpkins lyrics allow people to interpret the lyrics by applying their own experiences. What i mean is that people dont tend to pay machina the same respect as they do the others for some reason...

I thought for sure you had some enlightening thoughts on the content though. I wasn't trying to put u on the spot - I just like to hear how others interpret the music i like because it allows me 2 view the music in a new way.
