Well they album is officially finished according to muscian Ben Lee's March 31st entry witin his blog http://www.ben-lee.com/blog.htm. He describes the album as:

"Seriously, the heaviest and most intense thing they have ever done. Really exceptional. Sounds like the world needs a record like that right now."


This makes me more excited about it but also in other news Amazon have put it up for pre-order & it says:

" Availability: This title will be released on July 10, 2007."

This leads me to believe that the album will be released on the 10th & not the 7th as Corgan said. Anyways thoughts about this???

Ben Lee is an Australian singer/songwriter, mostly pop type songs. Duno how he got the to the pumpkins wrap but you can trust his word.

I've never heard of him and if he makes pop tunes how does he know what heavy is???

Crestfallen was probably heavy to him.

Play.com (UK) say they'll release it on the 18th of june?!

I already messaged play.com, they didnt even have the name of the album until last week when i sent the first message to them, ive sent a 2nd about the release date and no change is happening yet, unless they know something we don't.

Linda Strawberry said pretty much the same thing about the album

if its true were all in store for something special again.

Play.com have been known to get release dates wrong more than a few times. I wouldn't have expected it to get released on the 7th, as thats a saturday and it would have no chance in getting a good chart position (at least in UK, where thats a sunday). albums are always released on mondays (again, i only know this to be true for UK) and so i predict a release date on the 9th.

Generally CDs are released on Tuesdays in the USA. But sometimes there are exceptions. I'm sure if they want to they can release it any day they wish, Tuesday is just the industry standard.
New films are released in theaters on Friday usually, but then you have say, Star Wars, which premiered earlier in the week, just because George Lucas wanted to.

yeah I guess they have the ability for a saturday release, but maybe its only for a certain music vendor and the rest get it on that tuesday. I know that post on here was an April Fools, but it made sense that itunes might have it out on the 7th and in stores on the 10th.
but there's also Live Earth that they are playing on the 7th and maybe the release date will have something to do with that, or maybe its a coincidance. It doesn't matter much to me as long as I get it ASAP, and maybe even get to hear some stuff from earlier shows.

It's good to know that the album is getting so much positive buzz. But then again, it's not as if they would insult the album online with their opinion being very easily accessible.

As i've pointed out on a couple of other places, the Ben Lee and Linda Strawberry reports are pretty identical and smells a little of marketing hype

I'll be jazzed if its heavy, its true we need something heavy. sure there's melodic metal nowadays but nothing....real heavy,...idk what i'm talking about but Its heavy, woot!

zeitgeist will be available for download of itunes on july 7th, and released in stores july 10th.

And if it sucks - in my trash can July 11th.
