Ok, this has been haunting me ever since I first heard the song...Which one is Dusty, and which one is Pistol Pete? When Pistol Pete "removes the final breaths from her unkind," who is the "her" referring to?
And also, what is the song about? Unrequited love and heartbroken murder?

And I'm not entirely sure what the song is about. It's Billy, after all...so you never can know for certain!  |

I love this song... When I first heard it, I thought of a child watching a killing in the old west. I know, I know... WTF??? yeah l*o*l "Removes the final breaths from her" "What does this mean?" I was thinking of a kid watching someone get shot, and "She is shaking" the kid is wondering what is going on, the kid doesn't understand death?

I agree, I think the lyrics make this song what it is. I actually wasn't too fond of this song (I thought it was kind of boring) until I actually read the lyrics.

We could probably use that to our advantage to make another good poll question: Which is the most lyrically incomprehensible song?
What comes to my mind first is Where Boys Fear Tred. But someone else will have to go on choosing the candidates, because I don't feel like amassing my brain with confusion.
