Has anyone noticed in the Zwan song Settle Down, Billy says, "for seven years, seven days, and seven hours i took my chances, yeah." I'm sure all of you know the 7.7.07 thing, but it seems maybe Billy always planned on reforming the Smashing Pumpkins. After the break up, he took his chances for seven years with Zwan and his solo album. The new cd comes out on the 7th of the month, and he announced the albums title on the pumpkins myspace at 7:07 (i.e. 7 hours). I don't know, just a thought.

Everything surrounding the number 7 is just a coincidence. I highly doubt Zwan has anything to do with the Pumpkins.

How do you know the exact minute the album title was announced? And that wouldn't make sense because it wouldn't be 7:07 everywhere in the world at the same time.

Just go to the smahsing pumpkins myspace. Look up the blog where he announces the album title and it should say the time posted. I also remembered it because it seemed kinda intentional.

You think the lyrics in "Settle Down" are meant to foreshadow the date of the next Pumpkins album???? I don't believe in any way that when Billy wrote that song, he was actually telling us the release date....that's absurd.

Well then what do you think that verse can mean? Don't say its just a general statement because Billy Corgan's lyrics are too intelligent to be generic. Also, in the newspaper article where he announced the revivial of the pumpkins he did say it was a secret he had been carrying around for a while. It's just for me, that line sounds awfully specific. Billys heart was always in the pumpkins, and Zwan was him trying to go on after the pumpkins. Also, you asked what does Zwan have to do with the pumpkins? You know that whole faith concept involving religion in the cd? Well, that is meant to be interpreted as Billy leaving his old religion (the pumpkins) and finding his new religion (Zwan). Normally I wouldnt anaylze so much but it is Billy Corgan and he has a way of going beyond what people expect of him.

I'm just saying, in general, sometimes you have to take things at face value. Everything Billy says or does is not meant to be taken as a symbolic statement. The past couple of months it seems like everyone is over analyzing songs, albums, etc. and trying to make everything into some huge "DaVinci Code" type mystery.

Hahaha... Yeah, people have been saying so, but I don't think anyone actually believes it. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Billy DID set up some elaborate life plan thing?

It would be hilarious, but I think he has better things to do than to play mind games with the fans. But who knows.
