The Pumpkins always seem to have artwork that appeals to me. All their album covers have been pretty cool and I'm anticipating the one for Zeitgeist.
I find that the cover kinda gives colour to the music; shaping your perception of what to expect and how to interpret certain aspects of the material. Maybe that's just me, though.

I agree. Adore is the best example of that for me. The songs 'look' like the album sleeve in my head.

you may all be right, but I believe that if mellon collie had sucked, everyone would have agreed that it has the most disgusting album cover ever. Now, it's just deliciously cool "kitsch". The cover influences your judgement on the album, but it's also the other way around.

I don't know why some people don't like the alleged "Lust" photo. I think it's no more provacative than some of the band's previous artwork. Look at the Zero single.

I just think the supposed artwork for zg looks cheesy. That along with songs called "God and Country" or "United States"...Its like is this supposed to be some patriotic american dream album.
I dont really think that but if you pair playboy esq women plus songnames like that you have to wonder what exactly the theme is supposed to be.

Since when is a picture of a pornstar so bad? They are human beings and they aren't criminals. I mean if a fully clothed pornstar is your idea of the worst possible album cover - you must have missed a thread called "BAD ALBUM COVERS"

it's just that the pornstar picture isn't exactly a cover shot. The photo is just not good enough. The concept itself is not bad however. |

ehm well yeah I'm a little stupid. What I meant is that we just form an opinion based on an unedited picture that is merely a concept, nothing more. Three pornstars and a blurry billy. That doesn't look promising ofcourse. But if you think about it, the concept is really not that bad. If it's a good photographer, he could really make something good out of it.

I dont really care about porn or anything like that...the pictures I saw just looked very badly done and the whole thing seemed a little cliche...like selling sex might make people want to buy the album.
oh and I actually think that album cover is really cool! poor chick.
