a problem i have with the pumpkins, is that you cant party to their music, well, after youve did it with metal (80's kind especially)

it all seems too mellow, the only things it seems right for is cruzin, and just sitting around drinking, or mellow shit like that, i just wish it was more partyish

You can party to anything. I guess it depends on what you wanna do at the party. If you wanna rock out and bang your head, the Pumpkins have material for that. On the other hand, if you wanna dance, I'm not sure the Pumpkins are the best band for that occasion. They aren't really rock n' roll in the Rolling Stones/Aerosmith/Guns N' Roses sense. Those bands all had strong groove and heavy blues-based elements to their sound and you could shake your ass to that shit. Not so much with the Pumpkins or any other band from their era, though. The 90's ushered in a more gloomy and depressed sound to the genre of rock. Not really upbeat or feel good material.

The Pumpkins to me are a get stoned/drunk and get engulfed in the music band (especially Adore), like Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains. Hell their first three albums have their party moments.

the pumpkins are cool if you're doing drugs or something like that. When I was younger I used to listen to we only come out at night on repeat while I did mushrooms. Those were good times, as for "partying" I would agree with you. Everytime I try to put the pumpkins on someone always complains that its too "depressing" or "boring".

yeah, everyone always wants to listen to rap or thrash if i want to party to the pumpkins, i have to do it alone... but i guess getting stoned on my couch by myself isn't really partying.

I think you'd have to burn a CD with various songs for partying, containing "1979" "Cherub rock" "Geek USA" and whatever tickles your partying fancy.

But i agree, Pumpkins aren't really good for partying do to songs with depressing themes, however they weren't meant for partying mostly. But yeah chilling and cruising and rocking out mainly.

Depends what you consider to be party music, anything you can headbang to i consider good party music, so i like it

What is "Party Music" anyway - it's not like people are dancing at parties anymore...mainly a party is people sitting around getting wasted and what better music to get wasted to? I think by default Sp has become party music.
