I just saw this. It seems like myspace are teaming up with bands to release some new smashing pumpkins covers.

Oh no. This is terrible. Panic at the Disco? Hawthorne Heights? What? The Bravery is one of the only groups I like there. This ruins everything about the Smashing Pumpkins for me. All the groups that make me turn to the 90's are stealing the last good music decade.

the deftones will probably be cool
but otherwise I'm not so sure..I will buy the issue of spin anyways you never know some of the bands might surprise me. thank god my chemical romance isnt on it otherwise I would lose all respect.

I think it will be cool to hear Deftones and 30 Seconds to Mars, but other than that, I am not really interested in this. I hate the other bands that are mentioned. The Pumpkins may have been influences for these bands, but that does not mean they will do a good job covering the Pumpkins' music.
Deftones will rock Siva out, though.  |

I like the Idea just because it will get the pumpkins out there more.
maybe more people will see that the bands they like are influenced by the pumpkins and get into them. idk i just want to spread the pumpkin gospel

it sounds like a good idea maybe a newer generation will experience the pumpkins great music, im looking forward to the deftones take on siva it should turn out great the rest who knows? i heard panics tonight tonight before it was god awful but maybe it will surprise me?

No, it's awful. It would've been good if the lead singer actually knew how to sing.
Anyway, I can vouch for the abilities of The New Amsterdams, Ben Kweller, and Deftones. I kinda like The Bravery, too. Hopefully this compilation will surprise me.

I have heard panic's version of TT on youtube as well and i am not looking foreward to it. BUT, if they can put enough production into the studio version (with the strings and such) it might not be as bad as their live version. with the music that they make though I am not optimistic that it will happen.
