There's some gospel song called Ava Maria and pronounced Aw-vay Maria hence my preceding statement.
Actually, it's AVE MARIA.
Oh snap! Well then Aw-vah Adore it is in my book.

I've always said "Ah-va," but it could easily be Ay-va.
Somebody should find an interview or a show where Billy says it.

I can't find anything on it on the web, although wikipedia does tell me that the video for Ava Adore cost over one million to make it.

You know, just by chance I listened to Adore for the first in ages today and then I find this forum and thread while looking for Tarantula. I adore Adore.. I think the great thing is that you can always listen to it - sometimes I need to be a bit more amped to listen to Gish or Machina for example. It took me a while to get into it, although 'To Sheila' was immediately my favourite and still is for the album - I listened to that on repeat for hours on end... Anyway, what I was going to say was I just noticed how amazing the drums are on 'Once upon a time'. They're brilliant. It just dawned on me while listening and I had to share it with someone(s).
Also from Adore, I think my favourite pumpkins lines ever are the end of 'Behold! The Night Mare':
'I've faced the fathoms in your deep
withstood the suitors quiet siege
pulled down the heavens just to please you
to hold the flower I can't keep'
And wow 'Shame' was staggeringly good live... really, really, really good!
'Set the Ray to Jerry' is still my favourite song though.
(sorry, first post - had a lot to get off my chest!)

I don't think so... Joey Waronker is a pretty gun drummer. I'm saying that for that one song, on the whole of Adore, they sound perfect. It's taken nearly 10 years for them to stand out to me, whereas obviously anything Jimmy does is immediately amazing. Why do you think STRTJ is my favourite song? Jungle drumming! Same reasons I like songs like Lucky 13 and Loki Cat. Jimmy is a beast.
I don't wanna cause a stir with my very first post - I just meant that in the context of an album that isn't about the drums (which, you'd have to admit is a defining and integral characteristic of every other pumpkins album) the drums on 'Once Upon a Time' really work well with that song. Did you even go back and have a listen to see how well they work before you had a go at me?

I don't take it as an insult to Jimmy howarehugh. I personally love the Ava Adore drumming, it's perfect. And The End is the Beginning is the End is another one of my favorites for drums.
That being said nothing beats the drums on Cash Car Star or Geek U.S.A.

Yeah, i think machina is his best work, and the sacred and profane tour in general was his best.
By the way, i will never deliberatly attack someone i just get overly opinionated sometimes SP love to you all
