it is an ass-kicker indeed. i knew the studio version would sound even better.

some people i talked to are having trouble finding it on itunes so maybe this link will help: http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/browserRedirect?url=itms%253A%252F%252Fax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net%252FWebObjects%252FMZStore.woa%252Fwa%252FviewPreorder% 253Fid%253D258008145%2526s%253D143441

I started searching as soon as I read your post and couldn't find it either (it doesn't show up with any kind of searches). But I closed iTunes and restarted the store, and there was a brand-new ad at the top of the front page with a pic of Billy and the words "SMASHING PUMPKINS: NEW ALBUM AND TICKET PRE-SALE OFFER" and inside was all the pre-order info for Zeitgeist (along with blue cover art) and a "buy song" button for "Doomsday Clock". You and I may have been the first ones to download it.

I love the vocal effects starting at about 2:30 onward. And everything else.

there's a lot to love about this song. my favorite part are the backing vocals on the prechorus. the bit at 2:30 is awesome too. they've proven that you can pack a lot into these short songs. the pumpkins are 2 for 2 with tarantula and doomsday. i cannot wait for this album.

Urgh. this sucks that its only on US iTunes, the rest of the world wants to hear this!

Also very exciting that the track, Stellar is the iTunes exclusive song and not Death from Above.

I'm resisting... I am going to keep my word and not get any of the songs until I have the actual album in my hands. But reading about how great the songs are will be torture...

I like it. But it doesn't blow me away yet. There isn't enough hooks for me yet.

I really hope there are some ballads here, some moody songs, and such. So far "God and Country" is my favorite song.

I really want to hear "That's The Way".

Oh, I got DC...
I mass messaged most of you about sending me DC, forget it, I already have it, sorry :P

It seems ok for me but nothing exceptional, a good first song in my opinion.

It's quite great indeed, very heavy. I just wish it had Ginger's voice in it. :/

I like it, the chorus was already in my head from the live versions and the Warner video. Those vocal effects are pretty weird but with SP you have to expect some changes.

The only thing that is lacking is some soul. But this is only a single and from the live performances there are others with more feel.

It looks like I'll have this song on repeat for quite a while.

The song is pretty cool...buy not really catchy. I thought there would be that awesome billy guitar solo that usually appear in many sp songs. Overall, I did like it more than tarantula, but it filled me with doubts about the album. I just don't want to be disappointed.
