Does anyone have a recording of this new song yet? I heard they played it at the beginning of the last show and it's a rocker

I watched a video, and I didn't find it very remarkable. I'll wait for another video/recording before I make my final judgement.

Well dude, I don't exactly want him to advertise it...
I don't mind him being a Christian, I just don't want to see him push it on me. The thing is, I don't think he would.

some years ago i would swear that bily didn't even believe in god... (remember the "emptiness is loneliness and loneliness is cleanliness and cleanliness is godliness and god is empty...just like me part" in zero?) nowadays his references in god an christ are more...who knows why.... (i, personally, don't like it...)

Billy's faith in god doesn't come across as intrusive.
I don't feel alienated by it because it's an inclusive, compassionate love and I don't mind how many time he references god or the christian's JC as long as he keeps on working with my own personal JC to create wonderful music.

And do you like paradoxes? Because what you wrote just does NOT make sense. Either you belong to a religious tradition (be it Christianity, Judeism, Islam or any kind of Buddhism) or you're an atheist. But you cannot be a jewish athiest...

no kidding. he has mentioned god in almost every other song he's written over the past 10 years.

I'm from a jewish family. I went to a jewish private school all my life, had a circumcision and a bar mitzvah. (Almost) every friday night I have dinner with extended family where we say prayers over the wine and bread before we eat - after which it's a normal dinner. We eat too much, catch up on each others lives and then the men watch the football while the women have tea.

I also believe that god doesn't exist.

So, I am jewish but I am also an athiest.

As aron explained, it is absolutely possible. I am a Protestant athiest. In this country, you're probably either Catholic or Protestant. The differences between the two are notable, but as you probably all know they're just pieces of the bigger picture of Christianity. I was raised as a Protestant (in primary school, my family never bothered with any kind of religious education as they don't believe in it but like me, were raised in the tradition). Still, I am apathetic towards the entire concept of religion which makes me a Protestant athiest ... I think


I don't think Billy pushes his faith on his listeners, which I appreciate (I can't stand those who do so, I had a very unsavory exchange with a narrow-minded bigotted preacher). As the song goes, he merely 'declares [himself] of faith'. I think the most forward he has been is 'I want to give for God and Country', but again it is expression I suppose.
