what do you all think will happen in the coming year? do you think they will release another single after that's the way? and do you think they will tour more, or go back into the studio? just wondering what you all think

I think there will be a live album, kinda in the vein of Kiss Alive! only with all the new songs that have been written on one disk, and their best live performance on another disk. You have to ask yourself, what is the purpose of writing all new material while on tour, if not to eventually record it and put it out for everybody. Maybe im just dreaming, but i know a lot of us have fallen in love with the live versions of the Zeitgeist tunes, it would be awesome to have a professionally recorded, LIVE, double album from SP.

with all the new songs, im betting they go back in the studio next year. and with the new live dvd coming out, i'm so excited. Come On Let's Go has to be the next hit or a slow song. (a.k.a, neverlost, orchid)

Billy, and musicians in general, are constantly writing new songs. Thats just what they do. Billy's written hundreds of song in the past, some played live and some not, that never saw a commercial release. And personally, I don't think any of the new songs from the residencies will ever be released. They may appear on the DVD in some form, but other than that probably not.

My guess is Starz. Its all over the radio already, which is weird because I've never heard Thats the Way on the radio before and that suppose to be the new single.

well the pumpkins have had a lot of hits that were never released as singles. starz would be a good choice though

They'll go on hiatus so Billy can realise his long-festering dreams to finish his autobiography and turning Glass and the Machines of God into a stage play.

(The funny thing is, that may not be too far from the truth. When I talked to the man a few years ago, he said he really wanted Glass to be a live play ... or an anime!)

What do all bands do? Tour, write, record, break up. Chances are they're going to do one of those four things.

I have a strong feeling the next album is going to be epic. I can't explain it but I honestly believe (if they make another album) that it will be on the same level as Siamese Dream. Just a thought.

As far as albums go, Im thinking about dvds because while a good many of you might, most people are not willing to spend 10-15 bucks on a cd, but they will spend 25 on a dvd, so I think that will become the preferred medium"

Maybe that's because it's like this is a new beginning for them. It's like this is Gish of the Zero decade, and the next should be a breakout creation...

Personally, I really don't try to look that far into the future at all when it comes to the Pumpkins... I'd rather not get my hopes up for anything. I really don't know if I expect them to go on hiatus, break up, a side project, new album... I have no clue, and I don't like thinking about it. If I had my way, they'd finish up touring, take a small break, and then all 4 (or 5, including Lisa) to head to the studio and create something "epic", as you say. I think Zeitgeist is an amazing album, but I think we can see something even bigger from them. Not necessarily a double album, but it certainly can be longer. I would like to see Billy break out a little more, some more screams on studio songs... They are not young anymore, and I want to see them do some really really loud songs while they can. I want another Bodies or XYU to come out... and when I say that, I mean I want the singing to be at that level of ferocity.

Idk, I'm just rambling now... anyway, there's no way anyone can know what will happen next. Billy probably doesn't even know yet.

I think they'll tour throughout the remainder of the fall and winter, take a short "break" from doing anything and then hit the studio again by the spring. It's clear that there's no lack of new material to work on, and as has already been stated, they're constantly writing new stuff every day, so by the time they get back in the studio, they shouldn't have a lot of trouble picking the best stuff to make the next album with. and I agree that the next album is going to be something really special. I can't explain it either, but I do get that same feeling. I also get the feeling that jeff and ginger are around for the long haul. it seems they are getting some input, and I think if those 4 hit the studio together, the chemistry they're already enjoying is just going to blossom into some amazing work. whatever happens, I'm just glad to be along for the ride!!

Yep I think so too.

I wanna hear Ginger sing lead vocals on some tracks! Billy's an ace song writer but sometimes his voice doesn't quite work. Has she sung anything live yet?
