Well, I'd edit some of this out from my MySpace, but that takes too much time, so you'll have to sift through the crap. Photos follow.
Ok, so I’ll make some general comments about VF and then specific SP. It was f*cking HOT outside, but seriously, there were some men and women exposing over 80% of their body and they had no business exposing ANY of it. I mean seriously people, some taste please. First day, I didn’t go until evening and after walking around to see what all was going on, I settled in for the Beastie Boys (hell yeah!), most of the Police and some of Modest Mouse.

Pumpkins Day!!! I got there around 1:00pm and found Joey up front and center with Rachel who came all the way from CA. We watched Regina Spektor – she is so cute and her lyrics are hilarious. I really enjoyed her! The only problem with being really short is that I have to look UP at the stage and so being right up front wasn’t that great for me. I headed for some food and found a nice cushy spot in the Shade Tent where I could see the screen, the stage, and hear just fine. Spoon was OK. Panic at the Disco was awesome (those guys are a little weird). The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (uuuuuuuh no) – I did skip out on some of them to check out Wu Tang! I stayed back at the Tent for Interpol because I was trying to find Michelle. We had our cell phones, and probably saw each other several times but never connected! I saw some people I knew and got talking to some others, so I continued to hang out at the Tent, and I am so glad I did, as it started to POUR rain. However, when Pumpkins started, I worked my way back to the stage. I didn’t get all the to the way front center where Joey and Rachel were, but I was only about 4 rows deep. The crowd was actually a bit thin because of the rain.

Some of the most amusing pre-Pumpkins time was the text messages across the screen. Jesus loves Zwan. Billy got about 20 marriage proposals. If my texting wasn’t broke, I’d have claimed him as taken! Many song requests. Someone texted that James Iha was on the next stage as guest guitarist for 311. Anyway. . on to the show!

United States
Today
SIYL --- wooooooooot. Ok Billy, you are out of the dog house now for skipping this at 9:30 club. My favorite!!!!!!!!!
Zero
Hummer
[a song whose title for the life of me I can’t think of and I’m not very familiar with it – someone help me fill in my only blank].
Doomsday Clock – the more I hear this, the more I think it is my favorite off of Zeitgeist and would have been a good single choice.
Starla – I believe this is the song Billy said he wrote while being high on mushrooms, while at the same time saying he doesn’t condone drugs, but that if we were high we would understand the lyrics better.
BWBW
Death From Above – first time I’ve heard this live
To Sheila – this was semi-acoustic. What I mean is Billy had his acoustic guitar, but there was some very subtle backing by the band. This was beautiful as always.
Tonight Tonight
That’s the Way My Love Is - Billy said this was going to be the next single – I suppose he may have spilled these beans in CA, but he announced it at VF as well
Heavy Metal Machine – why Billy, why? I know some of you love these 10 minutes total jam sessions. . . and they are so awesome, but after 5-6 minutes, I could be done. He is so awesome on guitar though. Wooooooooooooooooot!

Started raining again as I was driving home and some asswipe got into a wreck right on the interstate to jack traffic a bit. Oh well! Here are some pictures. Digital zoom is so grainy, but whatever! One picture I actually took directly from the monitor next to the stage, so quality is worse, but it was such a classic Billy pose and I couldn’t get a good angle where I was.
