I, personally think that another pumpkins album is already at least half way written with all the new songs they have made over the shows at orange peel and fillmore. If thats the case, I am going to absolutly love the album

Zeitgeist had no acustic songs, but if my prediction is correct, than the new one will.

hmm... i don't think a lot of the songs are necessarily going to go on the album. I'm hoping for some more songs like doomsdayclock, that's the way, and neverlost. zeitgeist (the song) was pretty amazing and I'm hoping that 99 Floors will be on the next album.

I really hope that the new songs aren't used on the new album. They'll still be zeitgeist songs and I want to be taken to a new place with every pumpkin album like I always have.

Hm, maybe. I do think the use of the harmonica is a cool new direction for their acoustic songs. however I remember them using a harmonica before gish. Idk, I'd rather have some more fresh material, and maybe release a b-side album inbetween.

I'm thinking more along the lines that SP will release a CD featuring live-exclusive songs that were played on the zeitgeist tour like "Superchirst". I'm actually kinda hoping they don't end up as B-Sides, though. Harder to get that way.

I don't think the new songs can really be called b-sides. But whatever, I would love for them to do a live album with those songs on it. Besides the new songs were written with the live aspect of it as the focus, so going into a studio and recording it might ruin the whole original feel of it.

the new album is gonna have to be so fresh its hard recognize, scrap everything you knew of zeigeist, these songs are no damn good anyways, too old, they are just jam songs, which get boring after a time, bring the new

I doubt any of the fillmore/orange peel songs will be on the follow up to zeitgeist, nor do i think they will be included in an official release by the band in the future, as dissapointing as it is, i gathered that they were only intended to be something special the band were performing for the guests at those concerts, something very personal for those lucky few, except for the songs that were played several times and not just from the recidency gigs, like gossamer, and maybe superchrist.

I agree 100% dougy. I don't think some folks realize the sheer volume of songs that billy writes. the glimpse we got via the resedencies of all this new material is just a glimpse of how it's always been, but we never got to see it before. there's no telling how many songs he's written that were never heard by anybody outside the band itself. I don't think any of those songs will make it to an official release.

of course the new album is written already its called GOSSAMER. The next album will consist of a monster 5 hour version of the song on 4 discs and that is all.

The songs played at Orange Peel etc were clearly in a demo state and if anything only half written. Plus, they'll write lots of songs which don't end up on an album.
I am hoping they will release a new album in 2008 or 2009 at the latest, and I think it would be in their best interest to do so.

I can see a Gossamer EP being released with gossamer and a couple other residency songs, but besides that, any new album will be new material in my opinion. And I don't think we'll see anything as early as 08. Billy didn't always stick with it, but in an interview he mentioned the band liked 3 years between albums. I believe a lot of the albums had 2 years between them at least.
