Well, for the past few days, my friend and I have been debating on the way you're supposed to say Machina (yes, I could be considered a dunce for caring but I would like to know so I can be right or wrong.) I think that you are supposed to say it like "machine" and then "a". She thinks it's supposed to be said like "mackina." It seems like I've heard it as my pick, but I'm not sure anymore. Does anyone know for sure?

I've read something that says no one pronounces it the same, and that Billy doesn't think that there's a specific pronunciation. I think he said that he pronounces it the way you say it. I say "Mawckina", 'cause the word "machina" is machine in Spanish, and "Mawckina" is the pronunciation for it (I think).

That does make sense, but that means I was wrong. Maybe I could consider her wrong as well...

I used to call it "Ma-kin-ah" because of the phrase "Deus Ex Machina" being latin for "Machines of God", untill I heard an interview of Billy saying it as "Masheena" and I thought that was the correct way of saying it.

But like you guys were saying, you can pronounce it any way you feel like it, which is pretty cool when you think about it.

I say it like "MA-ki-na" because the word is used throughout Final Fantasy X with that pronunciation...

Hahaha, every time i heard Ma-keen-a after playing that it always reminded me of Final Fantasy X, and every time they said it it confused me and made me want to slap them

Let's see, Billy pronounces it different every time. When he played 99X he even joked about it. Of course, when you are speaking in English, the natural way to pronounce it is "Mushina" but the correct way, since it is a latin word is "Mákina", if any one knows Spanish, it's pronounced the same way (Máquina). And by the way... "Deus ex machina" doesn't really mean "the machines of God", but somehting like God arising from a machine.
