Reading (Sunday) Highlights on BBC 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Found this page on the BBC website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/readingandleeds/2007/artists/smashingpumpkins/

Looking at the list of bands on the right it seems they are recording just the reading performances. So SP wont be up on the website till Sunday night!

BTW I was watching the coverage last night and Kings Of Leon where ace.
And if you want to find out what happens to you when you fly over from america last minute and forget your clothes, check out gossips performance....cough.....she does have a great voice though

Pumpkins at Reading 2007 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I was gutted that I couldn't go this year but from what I've seen and heard about the performance it was amazing!

My friend who went said it blew him away, he's a fan but wasn't sure about the comeback.

He has now changed his mind and can't wait to see them back in England.

I was in the front row ! Had the best possible view EVER. Was officially the best gig I've ever been too.
Those arn't the only songs they played though, their set was like 90 minutes & they opened with Superchrist which I was very surprised with. But my most favourite part was when they closed with Cherub Rock, was the perfect ending to the night, I gave that song my all, danced like a lunatic, knocked over a few people & sung my lungs. Two days after my voice is still gone!
Oooo & the light show was good as well, looked different from all the videos I've seen. I also adored the solo acoustic version of 1979 & the piano version of Death from Above even if basically no one knew the song. The only downside was they wern't aload an encore! They just said: "Mainstage is closed" & then everyone started cleaning up. But that twas a mere blemish on the best band I've ever seen live & I'm not just saying that, I've seen Muse as well & the Pumpkins blew em' away!

Holy f*** that piano version of Death from Above did rule. I got the most goosebumps when Tonight, Tonight started though, heh...

I saw a few videos, and I noticed lisa was playing a key-tar up in the front next to Jeff. That's awesome

Hmmm, seems that the Reading fest was better than Leeds

Pumpkins didn't even get to play Muzzle as their encore at leeds for some reason, and it's just typical that the BBC would put a video of Reading online and not Leeds, what were the TV cameras doing at Leeds if there's not gonna be any coverage, just cos we're up north of England

Gig was still awesome though

I was at Reading too and it was insane. So much better songs were heard. The version of heavy metal machine was insane and they stretched out ghost and the glass children loads. NIN, who played before were also amazing.

But SP couldnt play their encore Muzzle at reading too (you can see it on their setlist on the officila site.) I have a feeling its because they were running so late (about 2 hours)and I blame lostprophets for taking so long to come on.

I think at Reading there is a strick curfew on the Sunday night because of last years riots were 6 died. Some girl in front of me got so mad they wern't aload an encore, she was screaming "THATS SHIT! THATS SHIT!!!" The new version of Heavy Metal Machine live is so amazing. No one knew what it was except me I think... & no one knew Superchrist either but I pretty much sung along to every single song they played.
& Lisa only played the key-tar during Thats the Way.
