IMO - No change in what I think, a very strong album thats far above average, cant wait for the next album - the 'snowballs been set rolling' from this album and the next one will be even better.

To be honest, I really love this album very much. Since I bought it, I almost listen to the complete album every very day.
The fresh sound on songs like 7 Shades and Starz is very addictive. I really love the production and all the 12 tracks are so diverse..
And I LOVE Death From Above, although it's a bonus-song. It's an example of why I love Billy's music. It's pure beauty!!

Like with all Pumpkins albums, it just gets better with age. I've listened to it on different radios, stereos and through headphones, and I keep hearing new things in the music that I didn't pick up the first time around. I like how Billy layers his music.
For instance, as I was making my Tarantula video I was listening to the audio through a pair of cheap headphones and I could hear every layer more easily, especially the background vocals. I had no idea he went (yeah!) after every second line during the chorus.
Just small things like that which make you appreciate the music more.

IF there's another album. I will not allow myself to get my hopes up, because when it comes to Billy, nothing is ever certain and he could change his mind anytime...

Yup, I listen to the entire album at least once a day, and that includes all three bonus tracks...

The Album is a great album full stop although there are those times in the album which i've thought to myself are lacking life in the music .... i dont know if many others know what i mean by this but other muso's should understand.....
all up great album listen to it alot (every day)
and does anyone know what will be featured on the DVD like will it be a VIEUPHORIA DVD where its random clips from random gigs or is it going to be from one gig with bonus features ....
personally i would love it to be a double DVD where you get one DVD full of one show like the grand rex and the sencond DVD to have clips from many shows.....

Trillian link=topic=1915.msg32374#msg32374 date=1187133621] I know he's a perfectionist and yes, I know I'm going to get the argument that Billy and Jimmy did everything on Siamese Dream, but think of all the SP records where all four actually DID contribute! "Zeitgeist" is a pretty masturbatory record on Billy's behalf. That's all I'm saying.
Why, yes, that's precisely the argument I planned on presenting. You've got my gratitude for presenting it for me...
I don't know about you, but the first thing that pops into my mind as a result of Billy handing over the reigns to others is "Take Me Down" - an absolutely gruesome attempt at singing and songwriting on Iha's part. It's a blemish on what would have otherwise been a perfect album...
Blah, that's awfully off-topic of me. Sorry!
Anyways, it's not that I automatically label anything without Billy's name on it as rubbish - "Blew Away" and "Go" are both excellent (though I can't say anything towards Iha's solo album, as I've never given it a listen) - but, really, what's wrong with Zeitgeist being "masturbatory", as you so put it? Billy Corgan, absolutely unhindered, is quite a sight to behold...and quite pleasing to the ear, besides. That's my personal opinion.

I agree with Trillian - If you want a billy solo album that's why u have The Future Embrace.

thefutureembrace was original and good, don't get me wrong, but Zeitgeist feels more like the old Pumpkins and Siamese Dream was basically billy and jimmy anyway.

And I suppose Jimmy's single take of the 9+ minutes-long drum epic for United States means absolutely nothing to you? That's just one track, by the way. There are others...like, 13 (including the bonuses).
Granted, this album really is only one step up from a solo, but, really, give credit where credit is due. Yes, if I wanted an album comprised solely of Billy's lyrical and vocal style, I would buy TFE (which I did, and still enjoy to this day). Zeitgeist, however, is not TFE. They're different. They have different tracks, and everything. They're only loosely even of the same genre of music as it is (with a few exceptions - "God & Country", "Death From Above" .
I see Zeitgeist as a perfect harmony between the old and the new - hopefully, when Billy allows Jeff and Ginger into the whole process (and possibly Lisa) for the next album, they'll finally get the credit for what they've successfully managed to do with Zeitgeist: capture the sound of the old Pumpkins, and change what needed to be changed due to mitigating circumstances.
If you want to define Zeitgeist as nothing more than a second attempt at a Billy solo project, then surely Siamese Dream lies along the same vein, right? Yes, I've made the point once more. It's one that's been acknowledged so many times that we'd might as well take it out of this thread and give it a thread of it's own.
Another entirely off-topic post. >_< Sorry. Just saying what has to be said.
