I don't know if there's already a thread about this, but tonight's show (10/30) in Atlanta has been canceled because Jimmy was taken to the hospital with "chest pains." They say he will be released tomorrow and there's no word on the 10/31 concert. I bought tickets to the show and my girlfriend and I drove 3 hours from North Carolina (Western Carolina University) and skipped a lot of class to see the Pumpkins, so we're disappointed to say the least. However, after I found out that Jimmy was ill I understand. Let me tell you it sucked watching a bunch of dejected Pumpkins fans get back in their cars. One guy I overheard drove 8 hours and got a speeding ticket on the way. What sucks for me is that I probably won't be able to make a re-scheduled show, plus we got our tickets on eBay so chances for a refund are slim to none. But of course these are almost trivial when considering Jimmy's health and well-being.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, keep Jimmy in your thoughts/prayers tonight.

The Cure postponed a show that I was going to go to.

But man, that sucks.
I hope Jimmy will be alright.

I just read it on the Pumpkins website, one of the people left a comment saying that apparently Jimmy was "asleep" and wasn't waking up or something... I don't really know what to make of it but hopefully it's nothing too serious.

The Smashing Pumpkins shows tonight and tomorrow at the Fox Theatre have been postponed because drummer Jimmy Chamberlain fell ill with chest discomfort and landed in a hospital, according to a press release at about 7 p.m. tonight. By doctor’s orders, he is to rest for seven days.

Promoter Rival Entertainment said it hopes to have new dates set within the next month. All tickets for Oct. 30 and 31 will be honored at the make-up dates so buyers should hold on to their tickets. If tickets need to get a refund, just go to your original place of purchase.

touring is rough enough when you're in your twenties, let alone in your 40's after a 7 year hiatus.

I'm sure he'll be fine. It's probably due to exhaustion. They've played over 80 shows in the past few months, which can take its toll. I'm hoping for the best, and keeping him, and the band, in my thoughts and prayers.

On a side note. If they are forced to cancel more shows, I hope Billy carries on and plays an all acoustic show like he did in 2000 when a few members of the band were sick.

Yeah, this has been a pretty big tour, I don't think any of them have done a tour this big since the breakup so all this travelling and playing has to eventually catch up to them. Hopefully all Jimmy needs is a little rest.

I posted a little prayer on the official site. Jimmy looked good when I saw him at Red Rocks (he played the best and seemed in the best spirits too).
I just hope this isn't an Eddie Guerrero thing, that would be scary.
We love our Jimmy, he's been through a lot personally as we all know, and we are so proud of him!

I have to admit, overdose was my first thought when I read the reports, and everyone else I've told asks that same question. 99x in Atlanta reported that they were having trouble waking him up Tuesday morning. If you will remember, Atlanta is where Jimmy really got into drugs during the recording of Siamese Dream. Sometimes old habits die hard. I’m hoping this is not the case, but you have to wonder…chest pains and discomfort…cover up maybe??

I'm not believing the source or the allegations. However, the explanation they gave was awfully vague, and it's reminiscent of excuses other celebrities give to hide drug issues. I believe Lindsey Lohan and Courtney Love gave similar statements to the press, just to name a few.
