What are your thought on Ma Belle?
Personaly I think it's the best Zeitgeist song so far.
It sounds so beautiful. Especially the ending, and the heavy muted guitar tops it off.
Also, for some reason I love the way he says "you" in
"I'd rather be with you"
It sounds so nice.

We arn't allowed to distribute illegal mp3s, try Netphoria for that kinda thing.
I think its a great track though, but not the best Zeitgeist track. But still rather good, it sounds like the old Pumpkins & not like the other generic songs on Zeitgeist...

I love it. From ~2 minutes on out is amazing. SPFC didn't have any lyrics, so I hunted some down.
Claire de lune
How high the moon arose
Maybe true
We quit too soon I thought
We quit too soon I thought
There's no place I'd rather be
There's no face I'd rather see
Just in case you won't receive me
Now there are things a man is born against
Claire de lune, where is that moon of lust?
How high the moon ascends
Theres no place I'd rather be
There's no face I'd rather see
Just in case you won't receive me
Cause you don't believe me
Oh baby please relent
The night sneaks 'round my stealth
Ma belle's soul recast
Somehow we'd never met
To make this happen
You must hold your truce alone
To make love happen
The moon must send ya home
There's no place that I'd, I'd rather be
There's no place that I'd, I'd rather be
There's no place that I'd rather be with you, I'd rather be
There's no place, there's no place, that I'd rather be
There's no place that'd I'd rather be with you

The intro is soft with just a small melody line to be heard from the slightly distorted guitar
I love the melody line the guitar plays throughout the chorus backing the vocals, the echoing vocals help add to the effect ...
and then you have the lead up to the instrumental solo by the drums which feels so thick even though there isn't much guitar work going on ...
Ma Belle definately has more feeling put into the music over any of the other zeitgeist song ... any musician would understand what im talking about ...
clearly the best song from 2007 by the pumpkins (best one on an official album)

I'm not a musician, but i know what you're talking about. It's easily one of the best zeitgeist era songs. Which, sadly, isn't saying much.
Pierowmaniac, go to netphoria you'll be able to find it there. It's worth it.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to be the detractor.
While I like Ma Belle, it didn't make me want to run out and buy another copy of Zeitgeist.
I can see why it was kept off the original release, though beautiful, I really think the tone clashes with the rest of the album.
For some reason it reminds me of Satellites.

Yeah, I first described it as an Adore era demo.

I agree when i was first telling my friend about this song i described it as a song that sounded like it was from the adore era with a hint of early machina ....
i totally agree that with this being the best zeitgeist song ... it really doesn't say much for the album ... but all we can do is wait for the next album and hope that it will be something as big as MCIS was, and as great....
i personally dont think that the tone clashes with the zeitgeist album it just needs to be placed in a certain spot to make it sound better ... maybe the intro sounds a little odd but once the song starts going its great...

I added those to metrolyrics.
I'm not sure if I got those right but that's as close as I could come listening by ear.

Agreed. Beautiful though Ma Belle is, I can listen to it online any time I want (which, I'm sure, will be quite often). It's not my favorite Zeitgeist song, but, of all of them, it probably captures the Pumpkins' old sound the best - which is always a good thing.
If I buy the re-release (which is doubtful, unless I win the lottery, or something), I'll buy it for the DVD and the spiffy silver cover.
