Has anyone else received messages or comments on your blogs from people who are not on your friends list trying to get you to go to some site called "Dear Rock Star" or some b.s. like that? It is allegedly a site where people can repent for illegally downloading people's music and offer to give money to them. The people contacting me are trying to specifically target SP fans, well in this version of their form letter.

Meanwhile between my brother and I, we have never not paid for any studio tracks by SP, except for Machina II which was released for free by the band anyways. And then of course, demos and live tracks tend to be freely circulated these days, in some cases circulated by people associated with the band, who authorized by the band to leak the material. And SP wouldn't get any money off those anyways, because they are not commercially released.

Obviously these people posting these things are just spammers who just assume everyone is illegally downloading everything.

No, I'm not getting any of these. But I do keep getting spam messages which are usually sent from profiles with pretty girls set as the picture (note the fact that when looking at their profile they have no friends), the messages usually have links to webcam sites. They are literally driving me totally insane! I've reprted pretty much everyone that has sent me one though & their profiles have been deleted.

Yeah that is happening to me on my personal profile. At least 20 in the past week like that, either through friend requests or through fake e-mails about people claiming that I had seen their webcam previously or that 'oh you are that guy at the party from the other night, right? go see my webcam' lol

I never fall for them, but they are so irritating. The fact is Myspace has become so huge its getting targeted consistently by all the spammers.

I haven't had that, but I do have some bizarro people show up on my friends list that I swear I never added, or had a request from them to add.
