Everyone should be delighted to know that the band is in the studio right now recording the much anticipated Superchrist!

In other news, Billy has been in the studio with 'Sky Saxon and the Seeds'. Billy and producer Kerry Brown have been "recording some stuff for Sky...(writing) a couple songs with Sky, etc..."

So is this saying that Kerry Brown is producing Superchrist, or is he just working on the other project with Billy?? I'm crossing my fingers for the Kerry B. mix of Superchrist.

i think billy is helping the seeds record something but superchrist should be good.

If you're out buying every version separately just for the minor perks then maybe you need some help, not Billy. And they're MINOR perks. You can get concert tickets, you can find songs, and what the hell would be so special about a booklet anyway, which you can also find online.

First of all I havn't bought every version. I was just talking about the collectors out there who were pissed about all the different cd's they had to buy.
Second, It's not that by buying the iTunes version I get access to tickets, it's that i got access to tickets before general public. If i didn't get the iTunes version, I'm sure I wouldnt've been able to get the good seats I got.
Third, why would I find songs? If you're so offended that I'm not a big Zeitgeist fan, don't tell me I don't need to be angry about all the different versions when you're the one suggesting finding them for free.
Last, I didn't buy the booklett. Once again I was refering to the collectors. Also, what difference does it make whether you can buy it online or not? The point is, it's a gimmick

Amen to that, I freakin love that song! anyway a few new songs, Great, If it is released on I-Tunes, fine I have my account, I just hope who ever deals with disrbution on for this does not drag there feet on a UK release as is STILL the case for American Gothic .

Seems to me that someone who's willing to collect every release from the Pumpkins, ever, would be used to buying a lot of stuff anyway. If you decide to become a hardcore collector of anything, I think it'd be a little bit illogical to start complaining about having to buy things.

Yeah, I didn't get the iTunes version. I did, however, go on eBay and find very near face value tickets for a show and I was close enough to see the beads of sweat on Billy's big shiny head.

I'm not offended that you're not into Zeitgeist at all. I love it. To each his/her own. I do, however, get annoyed with people who expected this album to sound like Siamese Dream just because of the band's name. I don't know if you fall in this category or not. And yeah, I'd suggest downloading Stellar and Death From Above (ILLEGALLY OMG) if you bought the Target version. I don't see any harm in it. I don't necessarily condone stealing the whole album, but once you've paid your money once, you're under no obligation to pay it again for the same stuff. I doubt this would hurt Billy's feelings.

Collectors point already made. The online comment was a reference to the people who scanned the booklet and uploaded it for anyone curious to see what random pictures of stuff Billy decided to print. And yeah, I agree. The booklet is basically worthless. I guess it's a good thing he released more versions of Zeitgeist instead of only releasing the booklet one with a heftier price tag. Then we could really complain.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think Billy Corgan is out to get us. I highly doubt he and Jimmy got together and decided to make an album everyone would hate, then mass produce it with different versions and bonus songs so everyone would buy every version because of the Smashing Pumpkins name. Then, take everyone's money (because he's so strapped for cash these days) and laugh all the way to the bank while purposely recording songs the fans don't like, all to screw over the loyal fans who made him famous in the first place.

Well, people can share how they like Zeitgeist, and others like me can share how we dislike it.
The only "complaining" people like me do is towards the album. However, You're complaining about people like me for expressing how I don't care much for it. It's a discusion thread, you share opinions, you don't hate Zeitgeist haters.

Are you responding to me? I just said I don't care whether or not you like Zeitgeist. I don't "hate" the "Zeitgeist haters." I do, however, disagree with the Zeitgeist haters and, since this is a discussion thread, I should be able to share my views with the said haters. And my views are that most of these haters don't realize just because they're called The Smashing Pumpkins doesn't mean they're the same band they were in 1994. It's fine if you think the production, lyrics, vocals, ladalaldadlas, etc. are bad. I agree with some of that stuff...nothing's perfect. But if you were expecting another golden 90's alt rock album, and that's why you're dissatisfied, then you need to think again. Once again, I'm not saying this applies to you, and once again, I don't hate you because you don't like the CD.

Billy ought to go back to basics...less production...more melody...and having back James, of course!

Don't jump to conclusions just yet. We don't even know in what capacity Superchrist will be released (if ever). As much as I love the Zeitgeist he said/she said, let's keep this thread Superchrist related. I believe there are at least 100 other threads to express your feelings about Zeitgeist.

It's a common thing for artists to write/record for the next album during the current tour. For example:

Last Siamese Dream show was 09/05/1994 – MCIS was released roughly a year later on 10/23/1995.
Last MCIS show was 12/05/1997 – Adore was released roughly six months later on 06/02/1998.
Last Adore show 12/12/1998…after a three month break the Arising! Tour started with the last show 12/29/1999 – Machina was released two months later on 02/29/2000.



you missed my point dude. Gish comes out in 1991. Siamese Dream released 7/27/93. 2 years later.

MCIS comes out 10/24/95....just over 2 years later.

Adore....6/24/98....nearly 3 years later.

Machina....2/29/2000....nearly 2 years later.


Zeitgeist came out 7/10/07....so by this pattern, we shouldn't expect another album until late 2009 or early 2010. and people are talking about wanting another one already? not going to happen.

and, what's to say they're not recording superchrist to be a part of said next album?

just settle down, folks....we'll get what we get...all this bickering back and forth won't change what billly's going to do.

FROM SABRINA ~Enchantment~

We are back in Marin County but will be heading back to L.A. in about a week to finish laying down tracks.

What can I say? Kerry Brown is amazing! Billy Corgan is amazing! Billy collaborated on song-writing, producing songs, playing guitar, playing bass, singing backup vocals. The Seeds ******* Atomic (guitar), Geoff Brandin (keyboards), Gary Stern (drums) and Don Boles (bass). Unfortunately, we kept missing Don as he was on tour with his band and he was unable to be there in the beginning but was there in spirit!

We were very fortunate and feel honored to have had Ysanne Spacek contribute her amazing exquisite violin on a couple of the songs as well as a backup vocal. We met Ysanne at a party given by our friends Adam and Jodi of Process Media. Process Media published the book about Sky's spiritual family, The Untold Story of Father Yod, YaHoWha13, and the Source Family.

Djin Aquarian of YaHoWha13 was a guest artist and we also recorded one of his songs. Djin contributed backup vocals and guitar on several songs. Also very happy to have Linda Strawberry as a guest backup vocal as well!

Kristin Burns as Billy Corgan's official photographer was snapping pics and having a great time. You can see some of her fun pics already in our picture album here on this site and more will be up soon! And, Justin Coloma, was gathering video during the sessions. Will be interesting to see the footage from!!!

Please forgive me if I've forgotten to mention someone here. Just shoot us an e-mail and let me know if I have something incorrect or if I've forgotteon something.

Here is moving forward to even better times. See everyone in L.A. again in about a week!
