My friends and I were talking and at a party last night we started listening to "Disarm." One of my friends suggested the song might be about AIDS destroying a relationship between two lovers(killer in me, is the killer in you) and wondered if anyone else thought about that.

It kind of makes the song feel much creepier, now.

Hmmm... It's an interesting idea, but simply put: no - disarm is about an abusive relationship between a father and son and I think this has a stronger emotional imapct; the way a boy is powerless to control how he is treated and how that will manifest in his own life and to those he treats. It's similar to the transfer of AIDS but on a more deeper psycological level.

It could also be about abortion...

Yeah Shame is right. If I am not mistaken, Billy had confirmed that this about the turbulent childhood he had had with his dad. Over the years they have patched things up it seems.

The only song that I know for sure is linked with AIDS is "Glynis". Billy discussed the song before the performance for the No Alternative video The song is about a girl named Glynis from Red Red Meat. She became very sick + no one knew what
was wrong. Then she found out she had AIDS and died 2 months later. Billy said that he didn't know her very well, but that he knew of her for a long time + that they played with her band before. Billy also said, "I don't mean to undermine one person's
passing but I think it affected me more to hear how people talked about her dying + how they moralized about it, than it did the fact that a person's life had passed".
