I agree about the movie! I'd love to make that movie one day, as I am an aspiring filmmaker.

What ever happened those people trying to make a fan-made movie based on Adore? I know it's been like 7 or 8 years but I always wondered what happened to that.

As for a movie about the band, well I consider that Graceful Swans, but of course that is a documentary. I am guessing that was going to be the 'documentary about the band' that was supposed to be included with the Metro DVD.

I love Graceful Swans so much. I would buy it on DVD.

I bet I've watched it 50 times over the last few years. I downloaded a very high quality version off the hub a while back and made my own DVD out of it. It looks almost perfect.

Ok. I made a torrent for it. This is just the file, not the DVD I made. But its definitely better quality than what's out there. It may take a while to download because I guess I'll be the only seeder. I just hope it works...no promises.

Pardon my ignorance but what is Graceful Swans? Is it related to the Full Circle documentary that aired on a Chicago station in 2000?

Thanks. Doesn't appear anyone is seeding it currently but I am not in a hurry. I think my brother had both this and Full Circle on a DVD-r data disc, but he's in Toronto and I am in Chicago. I wonder if Full Circle would ever go on DVD as well, although Fox would have to agree to it. I suppose you could ask to pay for a video tape or DVD copy of it from Fox Chicago though.

I did this with a taping of Chicago Tonight, "Smashing Pumpkins End" where Joe Shanahan, Greg Kot, Jim Derogatis and Deena Weinstein were discussing the end of the band and their impact. There was also interview Billy after the UC show. My brother has the VHS copy back in Toronto though. I think I paid $25 for it.

At the very least, they should release Graceful Swans with additional footage with Billy and Jimmy talking about the revival of the band, and a documentary about the fans during the tour. Or even reshowing Graceful Swans with additional footage for the 20th anniversary of the band, which is this year.

And I think 1987 was when James and Billy met, and did some stuff with Rob Roesen or whatever that guy's name was. As to whether it was "Pumpkins" was debated about a month or so ago in a different thread on these boards.

What 1987 performance? On Vieuphoria there is footage from 1987 but is for the Marked and Snaketrain, and then we see footage that has been dubbed the "Psycho tape", but that was from 1988.

I seem to recall alleged evidence of a demo tape recorded by Billy and James in 1987 (I don't recall if SP was the name of the tape) but the first gig under the name Smashing Pumpkins was July 9, 1988. Of course Nothing Ever Changes, the first official demo tape was released around that time. D'arcy joined before their show at the Avalon, and Jimmy joined before the Metro show on October 5, 1988.

While 1987 is arguably the start of the Pumpkins, 1988 is really when the band came together. 1998 was regarded as the 10th anniversary of the band by SP. But Billy mentioning in the final shows about the whole 13 year number indicates how long Billy and James had been working together.
