I don't know... It looked like plenty of people to me. If a band plays an arena, are they expected to fill every seat? I guess so...

You know, after thinking about it, I dont really get it. Sure he could have said "thank you" or "good night", but Nottingham got more songs than we got at Red Rocks, and I am completely happy with that concert.

So I guess.... be thankful for what you got? Don't bite the hand that feeds?

You guys got a pretty good setlist, he coulda left after 2 songs.

I second that. We should be grateful that Billy is back playing the songs we love in any connotation. I think that setlist up until that point would've been a very satisfying show!

I've seen loads of bands at arenas and they always sell out. I s'pose if they don't sell out the company is making a loss as well. It just seems so cringeworthy that one side of that arena is empty. As I said multiple times, they should play smaller venues, the atmosphere would be better and more intimate and you can gurantee on people enjoying it more. Also if the tickets are at risk of selling out then your gonna oly get the true fans jumping right in.

I agree with the video though, Billy has become so damn spoilt of late.

Well, seems like visitors of the UK-shows suck in general (NOTE: I don't have anything against the British!!!), but as I read on the anoying, official Pumpkins-Site, it was the same with Manchester and London!
Plenty of people stood and looked bored and just some couples of hardcore-fans were happy with the band...
Maybe, most poeple there, supposed the Pumpkins to be a heavy metal band or something like this, and maybe they just know the awfull 'Zeitgeist-recording' and not a single classic like 'porcelina' or 'mayonaise' (which i'd really appreciate to hear instead of 'United boredom - 25 minute-jam'.
And then...no show off the arena-tour was sold out...I wonder what they expect a half-full arena to be like???
Questions over questions...but a band ought to finish the show in a proper way, even if only two people would give attention to them! (Honestly, I can't understand why poeple don't get down on their knees, when they hear Billy Corgan play in front of them, he definitly still got it!!!)

I can see both sides of the situation.
If it was me performing and the audience looked like they didn't care and just wanted the show to finish the whole night, then I probably wouldn't bother coming out for an encore either. But then again on the other hand, I feel for the actual fans that were there who got gipped out of the entire show.

Are you questioning the word gipped, or the "entire show" part?

You pronounce the G like in the name Gina, if it's the former.

umm the entire show?

You must not of read my earlier post... they played a longer setlist than some of the other full length concerts

I'm pretty sure they got an "entire show"'s worth of music

That's why I asked. Looking at some early setlists, (MCIS, and SD), it seems that they got a decent length, eh?

The set list was way shorter than (at least) the previous 3 gigs which had up to that point been all been exactly the same.
Started at 8:30 finished at 10. It seems the Manchester gig the next day got to the end of the main set but didnt get the encore.

Im just bewildered. OK their was a few bad apples in the crowd who kept yelling for old songs, but the majority of the crowd seemed OK and in all honesty was getting more and more into it has the gig went on.......up to the end of 1979...!

Superchrist was awesome, Ava Adore rocked (amazing with proper thundering drums!) and Drown was supper to name but a few!

I just dont get it!

I worded my post wrong, sorry. I know they played a set, but I meant they didn't get to see the show in its entirety. Miscommunication is all.

To the people saying there was nothing wrong with the crowd: where you at the same gig as me?

The crowd where terrible!
Crowd wise, that was the worst gig I've been too, they where all so lifeless and didnt seem interested in the band at all

Sure the setlist was cut short, but it was alot longer than most bands would perform for.

very true, the pumpkins set the bar very high for other musicians in show length.

Well normally, you wouldnt be that annoyed; but the fact that they had played the exact same set everywhere else suggests that they purposely cut it short. Something also seems off with the way, billy ended - he always announces the end of a show.

However, I do doubt it was just the fact that the arena wasnt full. If you watch videos from that gig you can tell billy isnt into it by the songs; when he's happy he plays intros longer, sreams longer and plays harder. The BWBW vid especially shows hes had enough with something. But then, if he was ill or something he would have posted something about it online.

The only real explanation is a really lame crowd, and theyd have to be really lame.
I was at the London gig and the crowd was genuinely very responsive, from where I was - just to prove that some UK audiences are OK.

Incidentally, didnt Billy walk off the stage at the birmingham gig in 2000 - near nottingham. The crowd was probably rubbish then too and he thought, "ill give these guys one more chance" and carried all the anger from last time which made him a lot less tollerant and made him give up easierly????
