I think To sheila should of been a single. . Just because its one of the best quite and sweet songs they have done. I think it would of kicked ass perfect and stuff. Heh. But then agine its not very catchy and a nice song to be a single.  |

A song that shouldnt have been a single though was Untitled....that was not a very good song to go out with. There were so many better choices!

Nobody really knows the reason why they chose 33 as the final single off the album. I've heard several valid reasons but nothing has been said officially.

I think Untitled is a fantastic song and I haven't come across very many people who have disagreed with me. Also, it was the last recorded SP song, so that's why it was the last single.

33 was just a single that had a different style like all the others
Bullet - rock anthem
Tonight - upbeat song, traditional style
Zero - short heavy song, cyber rock as it was called
1979 - upbeat song, non-tradisional style (more proggressive)
muzzle - popy song
33 - quiet song
it just showed that tSP weren't always loud
at least, that's what i believe

I think that "Rocket" should've been on the Greatest Hits, too. Same with "To Shiela". I think it's amazing how the Pumpkins can pull off so many styles: heavy metal, pop, rock, quiet songs, etc. It's one of the reasons I love them so much.

I'm wondering what SP songs that people think could've been successful if released as singles. My pick is Quiet, because it's pretty radio-friendly (if not a little rough around the edges) and has a good intro that really grabs you. Another one is Muzzle, which was (rumor has it) supposed to be a single anyway before Jimmy got kicked out. I think it probably would've been a bigger hit than Thirty-Three.
Actually Muzzle was meant to be the first single off of MCIS but they chose Bullet... instead
Actually it was between Bullet and Jelly Belly (which Billy really liked) The president of Virgin Records convinced him it should be butterfly though. Billy talks about it in his 99x interview.
