I have three cousins with that name. We say "Ah-vah" though.
My parents wanted to name me that but then they decided, "No, let's name her something weird to make her life miserable."

Well, I know few people named Ava actually. My older cousin has that name and my other relatives say it's common in Iran.
But take a look at Billy's thanks in TFE.

Does Billy have a relative by the name of Ava? Maybe it's suppose to be pronounced "Ey-va?" I say "Ah-va" because that's how I grew up learning it.
