Inspired by the recent release of Superchrist on that compilation CD thingy, I have assembled a list of songs from b-sides and compilations etc. to put on a CD/playlist - this way I will be inclined to listen to it more and enjoy it more than if it just sits as a solitary song somewhere.

The reason I am doing post-Mellon Collie era is because I have already made an Aeroplane Flies High compilation and have just done a pre-Mellon Collie compilation (1988-94, mainly from Reel Time Sessions and Mashed Potatoes, so demos and live versions of songs that never appeared anywhere else, as well as a few Siamese Dream b-sides).

Anyway, here is my current tracklist (I added a few from Rotten Apples/Judas 0 just to make the CD feel a bit more complete. Well, that and I never listen to those CDs anyway, so I'll hear those tracks more now. I'll probably remove Untitled, as I'm not really that keen on it anyway.)

So, can anyone think of any other none-album tracks post '95 that I am missing? (I have intentionally left out tracks 3 and 4 from the The End is the Beginning is the End single). I'll accept any live version of songs that haven't been released too, as long as they're of very high quality. I've considered Gossamer from the Rock AM thing, but basically it's just too long.

Hope - such a great machina instrumental - would make an awesome intro to any compilation. + if you're including zeitgeist, then why not Stellar?

Ah, I considered Hope as the intro actually, but I just felt that it didn't grab me and went on slightly too long for how good it was.
And as for Stellar (and Ma Belle and Death from Above) I have them on the silver version of Zeitgeist, so consider those to be album tracks. Technically Zeitgeist could then be considered an album track too, but I don't have that version of Zeitgeist.

Oh, and that reminds me, I considered Christmastime too but didn't put it on because, well, it's too Christmassy

"Hope" is actually a recording actually from 1992, but did not appear on anything until the Still Becoming Apart promo in 2000. It was apparently originally a demo by The Marked:

Wow, that's really interesting. I just assumed it was Machina era because it has the same sound. Im really glad they eventually decided to release it in that case... talk about a lost gem.

I don't find the sound quality of the Adore Demos to be all that great. But it is a good suggestion, I might listen to them again, just to be sure.

I know what you mean. I think for awhile people thought it was a Siamese Dream era demo, but I guess it was really a post-Gish, pre-Siamese Dream demo, well the recording of it anyways.

Valentine would be a particularly good one. Come to think of it, I once made a compilation like this. I entitled it Beauty untold and made it up of 17 particulalry beautiful rare songs, and included a couple of machina acoustic demos. I think I had the instrumental For Martha too and do you close your eyes from the adore demos.

For some reason I don't enjoy the Adore demos...which I find odd.

Really? I love them. I was just looking back over them on this site and found "without you" for the first time; man that songs beautiful. How do you find the machina demos like laugh and here I am; theyre some of my faves.

i love the adore demos but i assume it's a very different thing than "post-mellon collie".

i think "TEISBISE" and "Eye" are very good for the post-mellon collie thing.

And by post-MC I mean anything at all after '95 all the way up till now, so Adore/Machina era counts, as well as more recent stuff.
I still need to check through the Adore demos but other than that it seems like I got everything.

What is "Stay?"

It's a cover of a U2 song I think. Not that I've heard the original. The SP live version is acoustic and extremely good.

The U2 version isnt too good after hearing the pumpkins acoustic vers. It has some annoying beat to it. But the pumpkins only played it a couple of times i think. Also they played it in a medley with if there is a god.. beautiful:

Are there any other songs that they've only done live that I could put on my CD? Only if there's a good quality recording of them though...

There are the two Bowie covers, but I don't really like those. And there are a few other covers that I have mp3s of, but again, I either don't like them enough or the quality isn't high enough.
