Think of it as a soundtrack to a movie...Most people listen to music when playing video games anyway.
Doomsday Clock or Tarantula would be ideal for stealing a car!

If you are listening to the music of a brilliant band (like the Pumpkins once used to be) you should concentrate on the music and not being playing this GTA-game...I also liked those games as a teenager but, to be honest, they are lame and commercial and there are hundreds of better video-games.
Let's conclude, what the Pumpkins did at all:
They relesed this super-weak Zeitgeist-pop-whatever-album and tried to profit from it in any thinkabel way (SEs on I-Tunes / 3 millions editions with different bonus songs / a later rerelease including the only good song (Ma belle) / Doomsday Clock for that wrestling thingy / and finally another song release for GTA).
Maybe the band (or what is left of it) should rather concentrate on writing brilliant stuff once again than on selling it as often as possible.
But the independent-times are defintitly over now and the Pumpkins finally also became a victim of their own greed and the crapy musicindustry.

Heyull no, this is one of the only video games that is worth playing now-a-days.
I don't even play videogames.
This is a controversial one.

For everyone's information, GTAIV takes place in modern-day Liberty City (or, New York City). Most likely, the featured song will be from Zeitgeist...or, perhaps, a song recorded specifically for the game? Possibilities.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm an avid player of the Grand Theft Auto series (I've been hooked since its first stint on the PS2), and can tell you from first-hand experience that the music in GTA contributes to the overall artistic environment of the game and is in no way exploited or degraded in its context.
For those of you who have not played a GTA title before, the music is featured in the game via an in-game radio that is played everytime you board a vehicle. The radio stations vary, and can be tuned to at your leisure - alternative rock, classic rock, hip-hop, R&B, house, et cetera. The in-game music usually serves to accentuate the time period that the game takes place in, such as 80's music in Vice City and early 90's music for San Andreas. It's not a gimick - it's a way of making the environment of the game seem all the more real.
Personally, I've been waiting for a SP track to appear in a GTA game for quite some time. I was disappointed when San Andreas, a game that focuses on 90's pop culture, didn't feature a single Pumpkins track. It was, however, set during the Gish era...
My favorite band's music in my favorite video game? - It's a winning combination.

Bravo. My thoughts exactly. Thanks for saving me some time, otherwise I'd have to straighten this out like you did. I think this is gonna be pretty cool. Some of you are way too up tight about this stuff.
