I grew up on the N64...

I grew up on the NES and SNES.

I don't even own a gaming system now. I still had my SNES in college...and it was still the shit. Everyone always wanted to play it, even though my roommates had all the newer systems. The classics never go out of style.

My Sega Genesis still works. I have all sorts of games, all of the Sonic games and tons more.

I used to just watch my friend play Sonic, 'cause when I tried it, I just totally got screwed, and besides, watching someone else make Sonic blitz through the levels at a hundred miles an hour mesmerized me, so I didn't mind not playing it myself.

Well I got into Video Games before music, I can see where you are coming from but still two 12 yr old girls only know a song from the 70's though a video game, its not that suprising, unless the parients had been playing those records around them as they grew up how would they know? Perhaps free bird is a bit more well known as a song/played on the radio where your from but not where I am.

As for guitar hero in general, is just a game, a bit of a laugh-The makers of the game have just come up with a different way for us to play that game as video game makers have been doing for years - think its world away from the 'I only know/like one song-thanks to I Tunes' attutude and crappy bands of now that are doing music damage.

Ah, but there's plenty of bands who are only worth knowing one song from.

if i had to bet on a song besides tarantula, i could see doomsday clock. it'd be awesome though for either a new song or maybe another zeitgeist song like come on lets go or bring the light. (i love ddc though so that'd be cool too)

I had heard that it was going to be 1979, apparently there is an alternative rock radio station in the game.

1979 would make sense, especially for an alternative rock station. it comes out tomorrow, i might buy it just to hear the pumpkins on it, haha.

Well if you don't have it reserved, good luck on getting a copy. It's going to be a huge release, even bigger than Halo 3. My buddy's had it reserved since last year, he's pretty excited. I'll have to go over and check it out.

Any particular reason why it's so big?

Other than the fact that it's a popular series and its a new game in the series?

Because:
a) GTA is awesome
b) It was made using RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) which is one of a kind and facilitates very realistic movements. The graphics are suppose to be absolutely insane.
c) Storyline will be good/Pumpkins will be in it...what more could you ask for.
